Happy New Year!!! Meatloaf was great RIP. I think this song was their first radio hit, so it's practically everyone's introduction to Meatloaf. ( I could be wrong) The entire Bat Out Of Hell album is full of bangers, 2 Out Of 3 Ain't Bad, Hot Summer Night, Heaven Can Wait, Bat Out Of Hell, etc... Meatloaf was also an actor. He was in Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fight Club, Black Dog, and more.

My then high school girlfriend and I were in my car listening to this IRL. Everything was the same except we finished the song, "went all the way" but didn't get married so didn't have to deal with that. We're still FB friends. His real name was Marvin Lee Aday. He got his nickname by his dad when he was a baby. He was pink and looked like a blob of meat. He had many movie appearances over the years. Including but not limited to "Rocky Horror Picture Show", "Fight Club" and "Wayne's World". This song was written by the late Jim Steinman He also played keyboard on this song. I wish I could have seen them in concert but sadly it never happened. I still have the "Bat out of hell" LP BTW they were BOTH regretting their commitment to each other. "It was long ago, and it was far away. So much better than it is today".

This song is just one of a kind... Rock Opera... Meatloaf was famous for it.. but this is preteen for me and I grew up in Delaware and there was a bar on Main Street in Newark, DE called the Stone Balloon... Meatloaf performed there regularly... way b4 I was old enough to go.. Didn't know what this song even meant for the first 5 or 6 yrs I heard it.. but I really wish I had seen him live.... apparently he was electric on stage.

This song starts when they were 17, and ends probably 30 yrs later when they realize they shouldn’t have made that vow, but are honorable enough to stick to what they vowed, also the baseball game part is that teenagers used to call make out sessions by what “ base” you got to, first base kisses, and further along , home base should not need to be explained

This was one of the greatest albums of all-time. Two Out of Three Ain't Bad is also a great song, and You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth is also really good. Phil Ruzzuto, who was the baseball announcer in this, was a former Yankee player and long time broadcaster. He claimed that he didn't know how his announcing part was going to be used. It's great though!

Meat Loaf (two words, he hated it when people wrote Meatloaf) = ❤ He got this nickname when he was a baby. His father, an alcoholic police officer, thought his newborn baby would look like a piece of red meat. So he told the nurse to put away the badge with his real name on it (Marvin Lee Aday) and replace it with "Meat". The "Loaf" was added at an incident with his football coach in high school. His classmates thought this was funny. The next day he saw "Meat Loaf" written on his locker. Everybody - except his mother - called him Meat or Meat Loaf. He never got rid of that name. So he kept it.
