I am not entirely bothered by the idea of going electric. I never found the sound of the GT-R engine to be anywhere near the top of my list of enthralling engine sounds. For me, the magic of the GT-R has always been that it was an absolute traction monster. There's no reason that wouldn't be possible with an EV drivetrain. The biggest worry you have is weight, but with smart regen braking you can probably shift weight appropriately to improve cornering traction. And the electric R32 is nothing more than a testbed mule. Nothing to get incensed about. Every car company on the planet has always done this.

Nissan is on life support. Even if they get picked up or merge with somebody, I doubt R36 will be high in priority.

We pull up to a light and the car next to us revs. It's is an emotional thing and the challenge is on. We rev back. Ready, set. The light changes. We make some noise and some smoke and we go. Yeah boi!! The whole thing is part set up and part go: with EV's there's no set up since it's quiet... so we don't have that thing happening like with ICE cars. The EV can't even send the "whoop ass" signal so it's kinda anti excitement from the first moment. A lot of "so what" followed by some more "so what" when it happens. We come for the emotion and EV's don't give us what we come for.
