How much better would things be in BMX, and in general, if people just talked to each other vs. posting comments on IG based on bad assumptions and blind rage. Having the opportunity to clarify, add context, give background, can really go a long way as this conversation has proven. Cheers to both of you to doing this.

just start reporting all the hate comments you see on IG at this point... we dont need them. IG has a report button for hate. clearly some people didnt grow up on "if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all" - the thumper rule / social media has given people that normally wouldnt have the stones to say something a disguise to hide behind to say stuff they normally wouldn't in public because they might get checked in real time. good stream, keep it up!

Kinda cool being an early 00's rider and in my mid 30's.. Our era just doesn't have that drama. It's these younger guys that grew up on social media whom regard it as a platform to unleash their deepest and darkest impulsive reactions. Pretty funny not having paid attention to the scene for almost a decade, hopping back in to see what's going on, and this is the way it is? Phew, today's youth need to get a grip. I honestly left around the time of the come up, because what that group turned into, and what it did to riding, was so extremely toxic. BMX is supposed to be a fun supportive community, not an egotistical shit show and outlet for your insecure, impulsive, emotions. This sport is about growth, overcoming yourself, learning patience through trial and error, while having every reason to give up; it's about community, compassion, and fun. We seem to have lost sight of that.
@benbudd1376
@benbudd1376 8 ай бұрын
Well said, I'm an older rider too and looking in on this drama is wild, dudes really need to just ride their bikes and stop analyzing every single thing that happens, even with ricany it seems that in the end all he needed to do was ride more and he would have been making his sponsors happy, instead starting thinking way too much about his "worth" and everything has gone down hill for him.. it's a lesson for the youth but i somehow doubt they'll see it that way..

It's like the studies regarding road rage; shit changes when you aren't reacting face to face with the person you're emotionally charged towards.. same thing with the internet. If any of these immature kids had the balls to say any of the garbage they spew over the internet, they'd probably get their ass beat and no-one would have any respect for them.

are you kidding me ? It was 10 times worse now this is some sissy drama's compare to our era the first that comes to my mind Cult and FIT drama , Mike spinner career was nothing but dramas, Mat Hoffman and Jamie Bestwick , all the peoples that got shit on riding for levis or Nike, even Mirra when he did the Milk shirtless ad , Adam Lz on stranger , Sean ricany on Hotwheels etc etc etc

I think something important to remember here is that a large part of BMX doesn't even follow a lot of what goes on with BMX online and won't even know that any of this happened. It seems biggest to you guys and to those of us paying too much attention. Out of the people that actually do pay attention, it's only a small portion of them that have negative things to say. I'd like to think that most people that see the negativity don't actually agree with it, the trolls are just the loudest. Mostly everyone will forget all about this by next month.

I saw the comments on Tyler’s post… totally dumb. Helmets can’t save you from everything… no one deserves hate for not wearing a helmet. My cousin is quadriplegic from a Bmx accident… he was wearing a helmet. Life is risky, driving 70mph with who knows who on the road is risky…just do you and we’ll do us, pain and pleasure/BMX
@joeeastman
@joeeastman 8 ай бұрын
Exactly. It’s usually (typical) people that have no involvement in “action” sports that feel like they have to give their spiel about not wearing a helmet. If they would look at the preceding comments they would see that it’s so redundant, we get it! but we also understand the risks, it is what it is, to each their own. I don't wear helmets - but I will, when I'm trying stuff that I'm not comfortable with at the moment. Athletes involved in action sports understand the risks involved, we don't need to be reminded by those who don't do this shit…

So is there a proper way to discuss helmets? I don't wear one ever, but I see why people feel the need to suggest it anytime someone gets hurt. People always assume that whatever happened wouldn't have been as bad if he wasn't wearing a helmet. That even might be true. But, it becomes disrespectful when you get angry that he's asking for help.
@LagoonGoon

Im thinking the same. Like should we just start wearing full face and body armor all the time or just respect each others decision to not wear anything?
@jluo
@jluo 8 ай бұрын
I don't think you should push your beliefs on anyone but you can talk about your concerns for close friends and family. Telling a random stranger on the Internet to wear a helmet should just stop. We are all adults and can make our own risk based decisions. If you ride motorcycles, I'm sure you've heard "you're going to die!" Enough times to know how it feels.

love Tony Malouf’s description of Brant. Could not put my finger on it for longest time. Manufactured drama & first world problems to the max. You post visual content for people to consume $ for who knows why Cadger & Malouf watched it & provide their take, mostly bored & aggravated with the lack of content & meat, Sean just venting & needing violin in background. If fools feel like helping another person out who cares, those donations sights ARE FUCKED UP INVESTMENT GROUP BS, it’s optional a choice. Some people can handle drugs & most cannot.

Brant first let me say that I enjoy your content, often it's informative and regularly entertaining. Also, you've saved me and I am sure a lot of other people a good sum of money using your coupon code @S&M. I am sure you've been asked this and even more confident that it's intentional as I feel you have very good self-awareness. What's the deal with the hair style and the huge sippy cup? Is it to differentiate yourself visually from other content creators in the BMX space or do you just like the way it looks? It is unique look for a grow man. I am a subscriber not a hater and a life long BMX'r that enjoys keeping up with some of the goings on in the modern BMX culture. Would love to get your take on your style choice.

Thanks for the kind words man. I genuinely just like the hair cut I have and feel like id look weird with short hair. As for the water jug, my mom got them for me and if you don’t rehydrate you die! Haha it’s nice to not have to refill a small one all the time. Both things kinda just became my gimmick and rather than acting or putting on a personality, I have things like that. So I’m actually stoked about it
