Strange enough, this has become my new favorite thing to watch . I noticed though, when you hug them off the side into the lasers, they fall but you get pushed into the laser first. So you get eliminated first by disintegration before they hit a certain fall point that eliminates them. Plus, if you dive as your falling it gives you more time before elimination, so maybe they did that.
