The French also say “gg” a lot whether at the beginning or end of a game. It’s probably because things like “bon voyage”, “bon weekend”, “bon vent” translate literally to “good trip”, “good weekend”, “good wind”. So they’re not saying “this was a good game”, they really mean “I wish you good gaming”.

GG! Great game from both sides. Big credit to the UD player for evolving his gameplan so dramatically. Something we are used to seeing Grubby do, but seldom others. It shows of a mastery that to me is more impressive than running the exact same compositional style in all weathers (Happy called out) Not to undermine him, he is fantastic at what he does. It just isn't entertaining to me. Also: Despite manadrain UD got off some neat CS + Nova combos and some really dirty full-backline CSs. If I'm allowed to speak out of my authority, Grubbys microintensive Hero-focused value plays seem much less effective in the Human race, where the lack of APM attributed to his backline forces consistently lost him snowballing potential with his rifle + casters. I'm only critical because I adore Grub, and would love for someone to prove me wrong with "facts and logic" (Forgive my eternally online parlance)

It's clear that grubby haven't been playing human hard for monthes and it is very hard to remind yourself onto offrace, but big mistakes have been made. Late 3d expand No upgrades (knights have 1/0 on 32 minutes) Towers were extremely needed, thats basics for HU workers are completely unprotected (like wisps with mines, building a tree or peons while building or by burrows) Heal scrolls mustve been bought every second they were available against swarm/nova/mw It hurt me seeing how deep zeppelins were forgotten. Still pretty good game for grubby, strategic moves and micro was on top for offrace

Super entertaining game. Your opponent was really good in transitioning. Ghouls then destro and then out of a sudden Necro and finally banshees.I think humans are always too stingy to invest at least in 1 guard tower. I would always have 1 guard and 1 mana tower at base and expo. In case of siege it's super important to have a mana tower to prevent DL, Lich or Pitlord nukes to economy and at least 1 guard tower slows a little the ghoul harasses. I think the ghoul harasses cost you a lot. For those workers you could have had a lot of towers. Too late 2nd expo. I'm not sure about those knights without him having fiends and overinvesting in sorcs without preparing already into workshop for the obviously needed destro counter. Finally the main issue was BM with firestrike instead of banish. Firestrike didn't do too much. Some ghouls here and there and some necros. But overall the nuking power against ud heroes was lacking without banish. I think as he primarily went aoe for killing your units. You should have been ahead in hero nukes. But you weren't that much.

@7:44 It didn't say, "Our town is under siege." but, "Our forces are under attack instead.". So maybe your opponent attack queued the peasants first and completely ignored the structures so you'd think that it was for the ongoing skirmish at 12 o'clock. Very clever if that was intentional.

Awesome game as always! Love seeing non-meta play, especially human non meta. I learned how to play wc3 because of you back in the early 2000s! I played orc back then and would use your gruntapult/shaman play style. After a loooong time off and seeing wc3 on sale for $15 I decided to buy it and start playing again for the nostalgia. I'm glad to see you're still playing and sharing the games. I would love to see how you handle NE as Human, specifically DH, Panda, bear/dryad with double staff. It seems I can never win. The DH mana burns your heroes and Panda BOF your casters/rifles. If you focus the heroes (you have to contend with immolation or evasion or Panda's massive hp pool) or bears they tank so much damage just to get staffed out right before death and auto heal at a moon well and charge right back into the fight. It's so hard to reach the dryads without mortars and even if you have morts, its seems like I lack the meat shield to protect them, spell breakers can only tank so well (without godly micro like yourself) so I tech to t3 for knights and my own staff but it seems like I'm spending so much gold on tech and buildings I don't have the units to fight or the gold for scrolls to keep my units alive during the fights. Anyways, gg as always, keep posting please!

Wow, this is "how warcraft 3 is supposed to be played". This video is really satisfying I think I might even watch it again later. Both players used/produced almost all of the units for their armies including abomination with plague cloud, and mortars. Seeing a mostly squishy human army all being affected by plague, getting nuked by carrion swarm + frost nova (almost made me want to say undead imbalanced), and split harassing workers with basic units is very satisfying to me and very well played by him. Even saw necromancers + meat wagon combo and both players had all casters at master training, you both really had to hustle to try to win in this game. What was disappointing was I didn't see much dispel magics from the priests to remove skeletons. And getting at least 1 or 2 gryphons for the scout and magic damage to kind of counter what we thought he was going for in the beginning (mass ghouls). He had virtually no anti-air in his army at all, and I understand that going gryphons vs 3 crypt when he could make lots of gargoyles is scary, but I guess it's worth it since they could free hit the meat wagons and necromancers, have very good vision, and can even flank from the back, or can be used to harass workers. I think there are a lot of things I or everyone watching this video or reading this comment can learn from this video. (I have not played warcraft 3 in almost a year, and I almost have never played PVP melee online)

BM should compensate for that. In that game it wasn't enough. BM was just sufficient to give MK some extra mana. Paladin was almost all the time dry.

Imagine having a normal minion giving everybody tons of mana like UD has. This game was nice but you again felt the OPness of UD. Look at that AM shell. lvl 3 bolt + thunderclap and its still on DK. Ridiculous.

oh yeah i remember this build around 1.18-1.120d bnet ladder MK first for early bolt surrounds with footies / fast expo / early hero snipes or unit snipes vs ud then bloodmage and transition into caster/breaker, 2nd expo, then tier 3 paladin mass griffon and flak gyros or anti air tanks+griffs banishing an UD hero with lvl2-3 banish, lvl3 bolt, lvl2-3 holy light = gg ud hero. same with just nuking down their army. i finally caved and bought the game but idk how to switch servers or find any channels if its even possible. idk where to find ladder so i know where i'm at server-wise im guessing US East NA

I feel you should have siphoned mana some of those statues instead of heroes in some of those fights. There was a ton a juicy mana on them, very little on heroes. I understand you were trying to keep undead hero nukes down but getting the mana from stats would have enabled you to hero nuke a lot more.

When you go MK with Storm Bolt and Pala with Holy Light against UD, why not choose Banish instead of Flame Strike? That's the hardest nuke in the game. Makes Coil+Nova look lile child's play.

It said "Forces under attack" instead of "town is under siege". But even if he hits peasants shouldn't it count as town? Or if your tower is attacking it alerts? Something was definitly fishy, since i didnt notice either and had to rewind.

On a more serious note, let me give some REAL critic of Grubby's play: *A)* *Getting CLAP at level 3 instead of BOLT was a mistake...* Dreadlord was still level 1 at that point, which makes him completely HARMLESS to Grubby's forces. Footmen easily beat ghouls even without heroes, and the UD had already lost quite a few of his ghouls by that point, so there was not really ANY need to go clap at all... Better pick bolt as it gives you THREE things: 1) Insta-acolyte death, and 2) almost-insta ghoul death. (bolt + 3 hits), and 3) better creeping opportunities. ... *B)* sooner tower at expo. *C)* a bit more creeping for extra items and levels. It was painful how long it took the Pala to FINALLY get lvl 3, and by that point it was already too late... :/ etc... I'm sure Grubby was very self-aware that he was FAR from his best in this game, and that any other day he would absolutely DESTROY that player. It just wasn't his day tho... :P ... Sloppy, slow, and not the best responses and decision-making... Just ... *NOT Grubby's day... :P* .

grubby every time u losing ur just losing to enemy expansion not enemy micro. no one have micro skill like u. if u just be greedy in building expansions like some of ur smart opponent, u would be unstoppable. some of ur smart opponent get that they can't compete with ur micro skill so the only chance that they can beat u is having more eco through expansions.
