You do understand WHY he rerolled, right? Or did you just hear him say he needed energy and then immediately comment? He even said he needed more dice upgrades. Meaning even if he never rerolled he would just lose earlier, he needed energy REGEN not just the tiny amount he used on rerolls.

thats not what that upgrade was. he misunderstood it, it actually gave 12 energy when the number on the tiles is the same three times in a row. otherwise why specify that zeros dont count? you can’t roll a zero on the die

@@seguaye sorry to erm actually you but it is possible to roll a zero if you get the upgrade that combines all your die faces into 1 side, which destroys all other sides (meaning that they are zero, forever)

@@ambermoon1341 that seems like a niche scenario to balance a random other upgrade for, given the whole conceit of a roguelike is making strategic decisions and hopefully landing an epic combo like that. like, the game isn’t even endless, what possible reason is there to nix one specific combo that might make things too easy when even in this video he lands a different combo that trivializes the game? I don’t buy that, I think it’s talking about rolling zeros on the tiles, because it actually makes sense to say zeros don’t count in that case

wait, if Spartans Dice works how i think it works, you only need to get 5 sides to the same number because the lowest is discarded and then invest in 1 side to a big number.

Yes exactly, you could technically even get everything to 5 and then just continuously work on the six and it’ll always get rolled

Nah it probably wouldn’t work like that. It would most likely work how advantage works in dnd. So two dice would be rolled, let’s say a 5 and a 11, it would choose the 11. However, if it rolled a 7 and a 7, it would choose 7. So if all sides were the same number except one then it would occasionally hit the big roll, but not all the time.

One of my favorite combos to get a long run is nat 20 + sound blast because then every time nat 20 kicks in it raises the amount of tiles needed for sound blast by way more than a normal roll would you get tons of XP quickly letting you get more rolls

No, the costs don't grow, that's why he rerolled. The prices for reroll grow with the files he walked and the prices for upgrades grow with each upgrade he buys.

From what I can gather this is what I can figure out You roll the dice and this does two things, fill up the meter beside the dice and move you the amount of spaces that you rolled forward. The goal is to go as far forward as you can The spaces are either light or dark and produce points you can spend on upgrades in the shop The meter filling up to make energy you can use to buy more dice rolls or reroll the shop You lose if you run out of rolls That is all I could gather
