I’m usually a huge fan on this man’s channel but, fact is, the yz250x needs NOTHING except maybe suspension to match your weight. Anything else you do to the motor/pipe/silencer/etc is a futile thing. I’ve tried everything. Oem reeds are better than the aftermarket as well. Stop spending money on bs and use it for premix to ride more.

I really love your content on the YZ250X. Been watching all of your videos on that bike specifically, and I appreciate your real world experience with these parts and how they affect the performance

Love the videos Robert, very informative. I think a smart carb is in my future for my Beta. I would like to try your sbc bar clamps on my Raptor. i think it would help a lot on the cross chop in the dunes.

@@OdysseyOffroad do it do it do it !!! I got a smart carb and the 720 bar clamps on my bike and it's the best thing I have ever done to any bike absolutely amazing transformation will make you feel silly for riding without these parts seriously! Expensive but worth Evey penny

Hi Robert, I recently got a very low hour 2019 YZ250X and I love it. I do have 2 questions for you though 1. I ride Moto about 90% of the time, would the flywheel weight still be a good option? 2. I feel like adding 1 tooth on the rear sprocket would help with 3rd and 4th gear on the track, would you agree ? Thanks 🙂👍
@roberturmosi-dirtbike-atvАй бұрын
Hi, With the flywheel you have less clutch action.But in your case I would change the sprocket and I don't think the flywheel is necessary 👍

For my last weekend ride (2023 250x), I took my 11 ounce FWW back off. Still testing, but it seems I can get into powerband for hills with less run-up and it seems like it can recover into power band while on hills. Where before if it falls off on a hill, throttle alone couldn't recover it. My son has the gytr, perhaps it is better as it is not too much weight. I think my biggest torque gain for hills, clearest improvement in lugging is the Apex head with xc insert. I think any insert works, son runs mx, he says he can't tell much difference between xc and mx. I wouldn't mind trying a lectron, but I heard you lose power over stock keihin.

The high comp heads are a good way to gain extra torque but you sacrifice the high rev I find the engine not running as free on the top of the rpm. But you are right on to have a high comp head on your type of riding works good. My KTM (I use it of Mountain ride) has a high comp head for the same reasons you have helping with lugging.

@@roberturmosi-dirtbike-atv apex heads offer improved combustion chamber design but don't require a change in compression. if you would like to run race gas or av gas they can make the compression whatever you want, but I kept my compression ratio the same. biggest part for the x is getting rid of the massive squish band yamaha created to lazily decrease compression on the x model

i've heard that fww and the weighted fw are roughly equal in terms of weight relative to axis of rotation
@jpconard17 күн бұрын
Yeah, I backtrack some on previous comment. Did harescrambles Sunday, after practice lap went back to truck and put FWW back on. Either way you still have to clutch a lot in the tricky areas, but the FWW helps tame it, helps keep front wheel down in tricky low speed hills. I just run a cheap nicenc stainless 11 oz. But it helps for sure. If you only run high speed more open stuff probably don't matter but the tricky trail areas, off camber going into hills, etc. if definitely helps. This bike is a beast.

Have you tried the Hitlis system question what are you impressions?
@SirValak2 күн бұрын
I just installed Hitlis and it makes the bike feel more controlable uphills. Before you only had a short range of throttle control, now it is doubled. With hitlis you are not on the edge it gives you more beein in the pipe range.

Hey Robert the new Luxon triple clamps are now 23.5 instead of 22 offset for the 21model yz chassis and up, and they are recommended for the faster rider I have this on my yz and it's amazing I can now drift my yz like no other , only things I don't have is the v force and the flywheel weight but I'm so happy with my bike I don't think I need them but I will be putting them parts in my bike to because you are so right about everything else I Must try now , thank you Robert you are the best 💪

Hello, I'm glad you letting us know about the 23.5 Luxon triple clamp. Don't even knock they making those. I'm sure works like a dream 👍
@zackiaryruddick70129 күн бұрын
@@roberturmosi-dirtbike-atv yes they work good I think you can still get the 22 offset clamps but on the web site it saying that if you have a 21 yz or up you should run the 23.5 I think it's a little bit more stable because the yz has slot of kick and they changed something about the chassis 🤷 , they feel stable like the original clamps but I can turn the bike very well , it would be very interesting if you get a pair of the 23.5 and compare the 22 offset to see the difference and which one you think would be better for the yz , it would make a good video but they are very expensive 😅 I would love to hear your opinion , it's because of you I found all these parts that makes my yz the best , thank you again all the way from Australia 🙏
