This Jeep is Getting Stretched How much?

I have seen a CJ5 that the tub was stretched at the bottom of the door. You aren’t a small guy. This would allow more room to move your seat back AND it’ll make the door easier to get in and out. I’m smaller and didn’t have an issue with my CJ5.

I have seen that too! My plan is to move the seat back by adjusting the inner wheel well. I don’t think climbing in and out will be hard because it won’t have a too or doors. So it should still make it easy enough. But we will see. I have a plan. For now I think the door opening is going to remain what it is. Just with some more leg room and a stretched rear.

LJ’s are super cool! Thanks for the support! But tbh, I wanted to do it cheap. Show people what they can do on a budget. And tbh, after everything in this vehicle is paid at retail prices….but built at home in someone’s garage with no labor…it would be less than what you could buy a stock LJ for. Let alone one with a v8.

False, the LJ is more sought after. That doesn't make it better, the rear departure angle is trash, look into TJ-6. It's overall the same overall dimensions of the LJ with a better rear departure angle. And the only way to have one is make one or pay someone to make on for you.

Why not stretch it to cj-6 length tub? It would be super unique as those are kind of rare. I stretched my cj-7 tub to Lj length using two tubs. Another cj-5 tub shouldn’t be that hard to find.

That’s definitely an idea. Tbh, the CJ tub is short…but I have a plant to increase the leg room in the front. I still want it to look like a cj5. I think that’s also a cool factor thing. Because while the 6 is rare…people don’t typically build 5’s either. So I’d like to make it a cool crawler, just make it a bit more functional. But I definitely have a plan. It should work well.
