This video made me delete my cart from FMS. Not buying a 600+ dollar jet that doesn’t fly perfect out the box. Thank you Jon!
@TwoBrosRC11 сағат бұрын
To clarify, the jet isn't bad. It's just nose heavy. Unfortunately it requires more work than the average jet to get it to balance where it flies like a fighter. But hey, happy to inform and help you save some cash if the mods aren't something you're into!

Excellent video Jon! Is there any chance your buying and reviewing the FW twin 80mm mig29 anytime soon?
@TwoBrosRC10 сағат бұрын
Anytime soon, probably not - it's incredibly expensive and it's hard to justify buying a very expensive plane to throw on the channel once or twice a year at most.

When are you gonna make a video on the freewing F22 70mm? I’m intrested in how you set it up.

Probably not anytime soon since we've got the 90 already.

Great video. Great flying as usual. Absolutely Horrible that the so called Engineers that are getting Payed to design these RC Airplanes have to rely on the average guy on the street to Re Create them to make them fly, and Land Properly. My Biggest gripe is E Flites Glass Slipper Landing Gear on most of their airplanes. Just Make it right at the Factory. We'll be more than happy to pay for it.

Awesome flying and video! I'm on the fence about picking up an eflite version of this second hand and I'm much more intrigued by it now. I know it's less powerful but I won't complain for the sub $200 price. Thank you for going over as3x+ gains in depth, that's huge for someone newer to gyro tuning like myself. You mentioned servo travel settings and expo but what do you set your dual rates at for this and other planes typically? 100% or maxed at 125%?
@Pretend_pilotFPV10 сағат бұрын
I just got one and it’s the same exact thing for just a little over 200 for me . I’m more into making it a long term project so I’m Excited to mod .
@TwoBrosRC10 сағат бұрын
If you get the E-flite version, replacing the stock motors and ESCs is a *MUST* - they're incredibly underpowered. The new FMS 1900kv inrunners and 80 amp ESC combo are almost overpowered for it. Join up on Discord via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord and we can cover more questions like this for ya. With regard to rates, those are a function of available travel. So 150 travel with 100% rate is 150 travel. We stick to 100% rate for almost everything and run higher expo in general.
@Pretend_pilotFPV9 сағат бұрын
@@TwoBrosRC this is my plan! What would be a good esc that has reverse thrust? I just got the eflite one for a good deal

Its funny how counterintuitive plane setup is to get an EDF “super maneuverable”. In most respects, a tail heavy swept wing plane is super dangerous cause that just invites stall. And yet because the molded aircraft look like modern combat jets, that is also the way to get them more control authority and capitalize on the weird consequences of swept wing planes. Really the only way for a gyro to not be involved is if the airframe was something completely different. Scale planes amiright 🤷🏾♂️
@TwoBrosRC10 сағат бұрын
Supermanueverability is a thing, no reason to put it in quotes lol It's something we strive for with jets like this. The full scale Su-27/30 is capable of insane aerobatics. The only reason the FMS variant isn't out of the box is because it's too positively stable. All manufacturers default to this in general, but this one really takes the cake for how nose heavy it is.
@polyscient17 сағат бұрын
5:50 Jon did you mean stall out the horizontal stabilizers, not vertical?
@TwoBrosRC16 сағат бұрын
Nope, the vertical stabilizers. Without airflow over them, jets will slide laterally and depart.
@UpVoltageOverclocking9 сағат бұрын
Im confused, ur talking about removing tail weight and adding nose weight to make it tail heavy?
@TwoBrosRC8 сағат бұрын
Nope. Moving the battery from the nose to the air brake compartment shifts weight aft. You don't need tail weight at that point.
@EDF_FANatic8 сағат бұрын
Does that mean you only have fixed gains not throttle based gains on the jet?
@TwoBrosRC8 сағат бұрын
Nope, they're variable with throttle as usual. Sorry if that wasn't more clear!

hello. I'm buying spektrum transmiter and I'm interested in your opinion, is it more worthwhile to buy ix14+ or ix14?

We have the 14 as a backup radio to the IX20, and it's really nice. You'll enjoy it. 20 channels, touchscreen interface, easy to use and set up airplanes with. Yup, though it's not something we'd recommend flying in SAFE for any extended period of time. It'll fly, but it would be like driving a Ferrari around with the parking brake engaged.

You know, there are many times when it's nice to buy a model plane "out of the box" without having to agonize over "mods" to simply squeeze out and extra 5% of something. Just saying.
