This John Deere 855 is finally running and operating the way it should! After 4 long months of cleaning, measuring, sorting and assembling the John Deere 855 is ready to be put into action.
It gives me a bunch of confidence to work on more diesel projects in the future and possibly some bigger engines as well. This was a great learning curve for me and I think I did it somewhat successfully. This Yanmar 3TN75RJ was fairly simple to work on and now I can say I know the ins and outs of this particular diesel engine.
With just over 20 HP, I will be able to put this tractor to work with the John Deere model 52 loader and the 72" Mower deck that I still have to rebuild.
I might just have another attachment that will be a blast to work on and use in the near future...so if you're interested in the 55 series tractor, don't forget to check out my upcoming videos, by tapping that notification bell!

Heck yes, need to see the snowblower repair video and another video this next winter moving snow. Also want to see the FEL in action once you've got it all straightened out. Top notch videos. Thanks!

Thank you Charles! I'll be working on it asap to have it ready for winter use. This will be a game-changer for me, as I've never used one before and I always wanted one. After a simple fix on the FEL hydraulic hose I will share some videos of this tractor in use. Thanks again for your support it means a lot!! -Andreas

Was looking for this video to see how the Friday parts rebuild kit worked out. We all know it's not OEM but hopefully it ends up being a good value. Are you pleased with the way it turned out and the quality of essential components from the kit?

Yes, I‘m very happy with their products and the way the engine works. It‘s been doing just fine so far and I‘ve put about 35hours on the 855. I also opted for their engine rebuild kit while rebuilding the JD 1445 engine. It works great and no issues so far. I guess time will tell how long these parts perform…but with regular maintenance they should last a long time. If you neglect the cooling system or if you run your engine low on oil, you‘ll always run into an issue sooner than later. Hopefully the engine kit serves you well😊👍🏽 Regards Andreas

Any advice on PTO options on the Yanmar 3TVN engines? Weirdly? I'm looking to run a high pressure water pump for a desalination unit directly off the engine in addition to using the main shaft for propulsion..😮😊

Yanmar 3TNV engine can be found in different applications and for this type of setup, you might want a Generator-type engine that runs at a constant speed. This is usually governed inside of the governor. Behind the engine you will want some type of system, either belt driven, chain driven or gear driven that will allow you to increase or decrease your rpms. Another good thing about this is that your engine will not be affected if anything goes bad on the "Pump-end" of your setup.

@@WorkshopRebuild, thanks for interesting ideas, chain driven is something I hadn't thought of, greatly appreciate the input and your videos are fantastic!

Why is your front tires on backwards
@WorkshopRebuild
@WorkshopRebuild Жыл бұрын
They have been on this tractor like this since I purchased it. I will be turning them around soon, no worries! haha

Front tires backwards?
@WorkshopRebuild
@WorkshopRebuild 2 жыл бұрын
That is correct! I have not changed them, because this is how the precious owner ran the tractor. I might keep it this way as it might be fairly good for winter use when I have my snowblower attached. I will see how it works and if I lose traction, I will flip them. Regards Andreas

Your front tires are mounted backwards

You got that right! I bought this tractor with the front wheels mounted this way. I have since mounted them correctly. Thanks for pointing this out. Regards Andreas

@@WorkshopRebuildwere you able to just swap the right and left tires or did you have to completely remove the tire from the wheel?
@WorkshopRebuild
@WorkshopRebuild 20 күн бұрын
@_P0tat07_ Just a straight swap from left to right! The previous owner told me he put them on this way for better grip moving backwards while 4-Wheel drive was engaged.

So, I have the same tractor but different loader. I have jd70. Don't bother with the blocks of wood to attach. Come up. Close and connect your hyd couplers and you can position the loader easily I to your tractor.

Hi Rob, it's nice to hear that you have a John Deere 855 too! The JD70 loader is a very nice attachment to have and a slight upgrade from the JD52 loader. Thank you for your advice and help. This was my first time approaching this loader and understanding how to hook it up. Did these loaders come with any support arms from factory or did one just creep up and use the hydraulics to lift it? Regards Andreas

Just a little tip it is not good for the tractor when you keep turning it on and off it is much better to let it run while you are doing stuff: Most non gas vehicle's are like that.
@WorkshopRebuild

It's okay to keep a tractor running, but it sure is safer to shut it off. There are many diesel powered vehicles that have start-stop features nowadays and there is no issue with them. Maybe you can elaborate why it's not good for the tractor. Cheers
