I've frequently argued that if cops are called into court, and they didn't record bodycam footage or they lost it, the judge should instruct the jury that unless another witness or piece of evidence corroborates the officer's statement, they are allowed to assume that none of the officer's testimony is true.

I would call that jury tampering. Their decision is supposed to be unquestionable. The judge threatened the jury that if they did not convict there would be consequences. It sounds like they took that as a viable threat. Now I could understand if the jury convicted when the judge clearly saw thet was an incorrect decision, then the judge is able to step in as the 13th juror and overturn the conviction.

It is very Illegal for a judge to request that a jury find a defendant to be guilty or innocent. It would confuse amyone when the process becomes an agenda instead of a proceeding. @@maxxcarver5502 A federal ID with a background check mandate, going under the the full name of Transportation Worker Identification Credential. They are required for all persons entering a seaport to conduct business. All longshoremen, stevedores, tenants of the port. ships pilots, ships agents, bonded stores salesmen, ships chandlers, ship repairmen, port employees, such as administration, maintenance, operations, police, etc. must have one to enter the operational area of the port. I retired from the local port police some years ago and I think my TWIC expired in 2022. I wouldn't even know where to find it now.

So you would have to think this would trigger a judicial review of her standing as a judge as to say that show a clear bias and clear lack of any understanding of the law. But what do you want to bet the officials of NY look the other way unless this really blows up in the media. Oh they know that statement means automatic appeal and injunction up the line of any thing she hands down, and they know other courts will fix the issue. But they will not want to fix the judge as that will be messy.

I had to get a background check for my security clearance while on Active Duty... who do I sue for that? I had to get another background check when my wife opened a home daycare center, and another background check when I applied for the Sheriffs department. I need a lawyer.
