The problem is New York and the Federal Government use a "Target" Oriented system of prosecution. Once they decide to target you, your rights go out the window. The conviction rates are so high that common sense tells you the prosecution based upon "targeting" uses an unfair balance of justice. Cut the best deal possible, just before trial but preserve your right to appeal based upon the Second Amendment.

Dexter is a patriot and the state and or city of New York as well as the ATF are the ones who are actually breaking the law. The leadership of these agencies and these jurisdictions should have their doors forced open and they should be the ones facing years in prison. This should be cut and dry. According to the law (the Constitution) they are the ones infringing on our civil rights and that law should be enforced.

Every pro gun organization needs to support his defense and follow through to ensure not only a massive punitive payout but to take this case as high as necessary. This needs to be a lesson for law enforcement, state governments and the ATF. They cannot trample out rights without severe consequences. Part suppliers need to run records free. Do not give out names or addresses without warrants and delete any information after transactions are complete.

Homemade guns are perfectly legal under national law unless this guy was selling homemade guns. Unfinished parts do not constitute a fully functioning gun. The first arm regulated by the Federal Government was explosives in 1917, before that all arms were 100% legal in the USA. The 14th Amendment made the states have to follow the Bill of Rights, before this the states weren't bound by the Bill of Rights and thus any law they passed wasn't judged against the Bill of Rights. So any law used by the government to justify regulations under the HISTORY aspect of lawfare, needs to be Federal because they were the only entity who were UNDER the 2A. So for 125 years the 2A was honored by the US Government, and then they passed the explosives act, then the NFA and GCA....they need to be stopped and our rights returned.

I was charged under New York State law, not Federal. Aside from the handful of agents wearing ATF windbreakers who were there on the day of the raid, we haven't heard a peep from our Federal friends.

As a Kalifornistan resident, I'm glad to be a monthly donor to NAGR and FPC who are litigating on behalf of firearms owners. I would love to try and build my own firearms because I love marksmanship and I was a machinist for a few years, but it's too big a risk in these states that see the 2nd amendment as a 2nd class right. We had the right to build our own firearms (a long standing US tradition) stripped from us through fiat and it's good to see there are organizations that are willing to hold the legislators to task on their blatant ignoring of the Constitution.
