@Stu_macherfan. It would need to make some sense though in the story. You can’t just bring him back with a reason that makes no sense. He can’t just suddenly appear as that would make no sense. 1. He would’ve had to been sentenced to Prison and Sidney and Gale would have to know that, as they would’ve testified to sentence him to Prison. (Along with Dewey, Randy and Neil Prescott all testifying) 2. The character of Stu would’ve been 17 in 1996 so that’s around the age you would get sentenced as an adult and he would’ve been sentenced as an adult, and would’ve been sentenced for roughly 25/30 years. As he committed several murders in the first degree, attempted murdering others, and conspired to commit more murders. In some US states that comes with the Death Penalty in real life, and in real life you would’ve considered yourself extremely lucky that you weren’t put on Death Row, and instead given a 30 + year sentence. But let’s say he has rich parents that got him a good lawyer so they could count in his young age with the “peer pressure” stuff and got a 25 year sentence. So by the time he gets out he’s roughly in his mid 40’s and by the time of the 30 years after Maureen's death he’s 47 and only just been out of prison a few years. But after all of that you’ve got almost like a Psycho 2 situation going on where Norman Bates was released from prison after 22 years and the story is about can he keep on the straight and narrow and not slip into murder. Personally I feel it’s far too late now to bring Stu back, if this was 2011 and Scream 4 was coming out I would’ve said yes because you could’ve come up with something, but not now.

I originally wanted them to come back with the core four but since we obviously know that wont be happening, i then adapted to the new reality that this is centered back to sidney again. I figured maybe they can make this sequel take place at the same time as scream 6 that way there wont have to be much explanation or second guesses as to what happened to the core four, kirby and gale since we would already know they are dealing with their own ghostface killers. But since we know gale will be more involved with 7, we know that will not be happening. So now idek how they could go about with this movie. I'm just not that invested with this one like i was with 5 and 6.. i really hope it lives up to what it should be worth because there really is no such thing as a terrible scream movie in my opinion and I'm hoping 7 doesn't rank lower than the other sequels.

Scream is my favorite horror/slasher franchise since I was a child, for at least 23 years, but I'm with the group that think they should let Sidney rest and have her happy ending. The way they're planning to make Scream 7 and a new trilogy focused on Sidney is disappointing to me, and is worse when we add the reason why they decided to go back to Sidney/Neve. I just hope they don't destroy Scream's legacy because I've always been proud that even the weakest movie (Scream 3) is really good and makes sense.

Getting it right to me, means: Shooting on film again, even older film stock, to make it look cinematic like the first three films. Sorry, but digital still sucks and looks cheap. Scream 1, 2 and 3 looked expensive and vivid and wonderfully filmic. Having Sidney's lament music back during the film, with Beltrami scoring again. Having one or two MAJOR actors or public figures as the victims in the opening scene. Budget will need to be high, but if you can get someone like The Rock or Taylor Swift, or sports star or ex politician in the roles, the box office could be HUGE. We need to be watching the opening scene and have our mouths on the floor due to the casting, like how we were when first watching Drew Barrymore in the opening of the original, or even with Jada Pinkett and Omar Epps in Scream 2. Maybe promote one of them in the marketing, but keep the other appearance a secret. SHOCK us, not just with the content, but with the casting! The finale needs to include a big reveal and twist that's not the same old tired "I hate you Sidney because you have it all and I don't yadda yadda" trope we've already seen. We also need some new and interesting locations for chase sequences. Wine cellar and vineyard, graveyard, pond or lake, factory, hotel, abandoned nursing home, mountainside road, abandoned mall, train bridge, massive store or warehouse, library etc. The rumors of a forest chase sound great though! One of the killers needs to either die early on, or escape at the end. Something different for a change, and I'm sorry to say it, but it's time for a new Ghostface voice. Roger's voice can still be present, but we need a new one this time to mix things up and shock us. The voice of a child or elderly person would be very creepy. Last, but if any of the film takes place in Woodsboro, then they need to shoot for a day or two in Healdsburg California, and surrounding original locations even if just for establishing shots.

I just hope, it will be LEGACY, but not BILLY oriented. Anniversary doesn't sound bad. But just hope for some Stu Legacy, at least. Also Sid hunting turnament. Or flashback of TRUE kill of Moreen Prescott. There is many ways to NOT make it 'look stupid', Spyglass. But mostly I hope, SCREAMverse can stop plot-sucking Billy off. Sam existance already was ridiculous. Don't bring her mother, or Billy's dad. Or his long forgotten cat. 😑 Plot sucked on Billy long enough. First, there was two killers. Or lets move on to something new, if needed. Billy connection obsession became washed out rug. 🥱

Opening scene should be Sydney’s mum being killed. So Stu and Billy can get a scene and all the fan boys can be happy with some new Stu and Billy scenes
