Hey gene. I watched a video if yours a week ago about fishing under boat docks with a small plastic jig during hot weather. 3 days in a row I limited out on crappie. I got about 20 pounds of crappie in the freezer. You are the man mean gene. Thank you

I just want to appreciate Richard’s trolling motor skill. I fish that lake all the time, including that same spot he’s at and most people just tie up to the bridge. He’s able to stay in that one spot with his tiller style trolling motor and catch a boatload without spot lock. That area often is windy and/or has a current. He’s a true pro. I hope to run into him one day.

@@khimmones9026 Ive got a 2012 tracker 165 with a 40 hp merc. it’s perfect. I bang it on bridges and don’t worry about cracking fiber glass. It’ll do 31 if the wind is right. It’s all I need. The best part about it is I don’t owe anything on it.

I started fishing as a young kid and as I got older fishes from time to time but because of work never really had time so I started watching your videos when I found ur channel. I'm not working anymore because of a cancer diagnosis I'm currently battling. When I'm feeling well enough and not down from the chemo and radiation I try my best to go now as much as I can. When times get rough and not able to physically go fishing it is truly a blessing to be able to go to ur channel and watch one of ur fishing adventures. I have also learned a lot that I didn't know. RGTFM im 50 ive been after crappie 40+ years since i was 7 or 8 years old with a cane pole and a bucket of minners on the bank and im still learning thats the fun part you never quit learning when you think you got them figured out WRONG !! Man, I miss catching crappie. It's been about 2 years since I've caught a crappie. It's stated there's black crappie in the river I live. Yes, there's lots of brush and grass it can be a challenge to fish in the river where I live. The beauty of it is you can catch trophy smallies, striper pike and largemouth bass. 😀

Richard, Ive come to learn that you are a special fisherman. I see you tear these fish up in all conditions. Not myself lol! Im a disabled combat vet so I have a lot of time to fish. I live in your area but refuse to fish the places you fish because i feel it isnt right to do that. I have fished the Tennessee, Coosa, and the main lakes in all depths and conditions. I have not had one day where I did not have piles of baitfish moving around my boat and yet in 3 months I have not caught the first crappie. Ive used 2 pound line, 1/80 oz jig heads, slabtails, even live shad fry,and i dont get it. Dont know what Im doing wrong but this aint like fishing in the florida panhandle where i grew up. I think Im going back to bass fishing cause I catch a mess of those lol 😂

Hey Richard, got somewhere I would love for you to check out, Lewis smith lake. I don’t know how it’s possible but we usually fish at night on the dock lights and the minimum on crappie being caught is 15 inch fish. We’re not having a problem catching them it’s just the problem is abundance. Would love to see you come out there and tear the crappie up, they’re huge crappie biggest I’ve seen in AL. Thanks man !
