This Kid Was BETTER Than Messi, But What Ever Happened? The Story of Victor Vázquez

The La Masia class of 1987 was Barcelona's greatest youth team EVER. This class included players like Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas, and Lionel Messi. They'd normally win games 10-0 on average. But what if I told you, there was one more - a kid who was ranked even higher than Messi by his youth coaches and fellow teammates. It might sound hard to believe, but it’s true. And it was no other than the La Masia class of 1987 captain - Victor Vazquez. But despite that, I’m sure many of you might have never even heard his name before. Just how good was he and what ever happened to him? Leave a like if you enjoyed and let me know what vid you want next 🙏 ❤️

Played my last football match yesterday, im absolutely gutted. I find alot in vasquez, i started off strong in my youth, tore my mcl twice consecutively when i was 13-14. Moved onto academy football, got proper treatment to where i could play again. But it just wasnt the same, i played my last season ending on 7 goals and 13 assists, not a bad last dance in my opinion. I made it alot further than many people and im very grateful. I wish my teammates the best in their footballing careers, because i know a couple of them have the ability to make it far. Retiring at 19, not ideal but it was fun.

Soon after, tore my right ACL..and already hanged my boots in my early 20s.🥲 Im sure there are times where u see some players making mistakes or seeing a pass others can't and really wished if only u have a healthy body to execute that. As a Club Brugge fan I can confirm he was the best player I've witnessed playing for our badge. So much flair and technique. The complete playmaker. Turned the club who were miles behind their rivals (Anderlecht) not being able to win anything for over a decade, to now dominating domestically and far ahead of the rivals who're struggling. Sadly it was obvious his body couldn't handle that level of intensity, he did everything through technique like a street footballer.

Even i am a fan of brugges biggest historical rival, i can honestly say i enjoyed to see him play in our league a very technical player with a lot of vista (vision), not fast, not really a dribbler but a pure distributing playmaker who was a joy to watch from time to time. When you or maybe your son face a situation where someone is seen as more talented, remember: Even Lionel Messi had to overcome a guy who was seen by SPECIALISTS as more talented than him. So dont let nobody, not even yourself, tell you that your talents can't be more important to the game you play than his'. Train your ass and heart out, keep the focus on the gold and you will find a way and once youve found it, your spot at the top will be there, waiting for you.

It's increasingly incredible for me to know that such a person exists in football. For me, he is the best cause he was able to rise above his frustrations. To imagine one regarded as the best being left behind for the bigger league and group by those who honoured him is infact, disheartening. Bigger known clubs would have chosen him and who knows, he would have been a terror to barcelona from another team. I'm pretty sure leo Messi would still pay homage in his insane humility and humane spirit as perhaps why Victor named his kid Leo.

It's quite suprising that Messi wanted to compare to someone as Victor Vázquez. A natural leader, good at both feet, usually loves to score, an attacking player. It reminds me of Ronaldo, doesn't it?
