Turned the club who were miles behind their rivals (Anderlecht) not being able to win anything for over a decade, to now dominating domestically and far ahead of the rivals who're struggling. Sadly it was obvious his body couldn't handle that level of intensity, he did everything through technique like a street footballer.

There were many pressures to keep up with his youth . A struggle that could have devasted players and drive them to sad endings. But Victor Vazquez shown a love that many of lesser talent and ability would absolutely agree on. Its the love of the game. He played for himself and for his team . Sounds like victor enjoyed the game he loves. Thank you Raymar for sharing this gem.

As Club Brugge fan who saw him play for us, he was absolutely brilliant but he was a man made out of glass. Without injuries he could have played for any team in the world. The vision, control and speed of execution he had, put him in a class of his own. He always stayed humble and he was loved very much. He's one of the best midfielders i've seen pass at club brugge and the belgian league in the last 20 years that i've been a fan, keep in mind Kevin De Bruyne also played in the belgian league.

Dunno, that's more like the way a young person may think, but when you grow older you see how empty and subjective is the concept of "success". The guy is happy doing what he loves the most, that's what I call a successful life. Probably, at the time that that happened, he was frustrated but I bet now he just laugh remembering those times.

Youre missing that Pepe put him in that game knowing he wasn't going to keep him, because he worked so hard and deserved to play at least one game for the first team. Victor was the reason why tfc went from the worst team in the world to the first Mls team to win 3 trophies in a year and only because of concacaf rule and tournament structure changes would have been continental champions and appear at the club world cup. He was literally a pk shot out away from that on a team that a few years earlier was the biggest laughing stock. His greatness was witnessed and he sound be an example to all what you can achieve when you don't give up.

It's quite suprising that Messi wanted to compare to someone as Victor Vázquez. A natural leader, good at both feet, usually loves to score, an attacking player. It reminds me of Ronaldo, doesn't it? He is exactly like that. Ronaldo would usually get described as that. No wonder, why Messi loves to compete against him. He is getting that nostalgia from the past.

I don't know, I've never known Messi, based on what I've seen of his character and personality to be about personal achievement above all else, sure he's gotta be competitive, but Messi was always going to be Messi. CR7 though I could believe. He's a narcissist through and through.

His last year he was kinda seen as a bad apple though because he was clearly tired of Bruges and didn't seem to put in the efford he did in the previous years.
