Intense humility. It seems less like lying and more about knowing how dangerous pride can be, especially if people would listen to and venerate them

I assume that the more we see our own sinfulness, the more we naturally increase in humility. Then God fills humbled people with the grace needed to do saintly things.

Perhaps one should say that they guard themselves from such thoughts. They know they can still fall.. in fact i don't think that question even comes up to them. Their humility eschews even thinking about themselves in that way.. i think..☦💝📿💝☦

They didn’t lie to themselves; but rather, they understood “for without me you can do nothing.” Our will power contributes to our salvation but without grace for you to stand on, well.. there is no progression towards sanctification.
