Saving stories and articles from websites to my kindle is a facility that I use a lot and am surprised myself that it isn't mentioned more often. Thank you for explaining it in such detail.

Sat Sri Akaal. Please could you also do a video on Calibre. It works on your Mac. Please be sure to include the formats mobi, AZW3 and KFX. Do also tell us which format is best to load books to your kindle. For the AZW3 and KFX formats you’ll have to install the enhanced plugins inside Calibre. There’s a tonne of customisation you can do to your books on Calibre so you might want to consider a mini series with Calibre. I really love the high quality book covers option on that too, that’s Where it installs a HD cover on your sleep screen if you have that set to show What book you’re reading on sleep mode. All the best!

Thanks for this suggestion! I'll have to look into it more. Sounds really cool!

I think this is a great idea too. Calibre is quite versatile by itself, and with third-party plug-ins it becomes an extraordinary program. I use it to put my books into various libraries (fiction, nonfiction, reference, textbooks, PDF, etc). It’s easy to export to another computer. All the changes you’ve made in the fields, and notes you’ve added, and new covers you’ve created, will also come along when you export it. I can rate the books I’ve read, I can send them direct to my eReader when it is plugged into the computer (I think there’s an email option too but I haven’t used it). I can also convert books to other formats. Eg when I had my kindle, I converted library books to mobi or azw3. I can take my kindle store books and convert them to ePub so I can read them on my new kobo (providing your books have no DRM attached, which I do remove from my Amazon books because these are books I’ve bought and I want to read them on any device I choose; as well, if my account is hacked or frozen, I’ll still have access to those books outside of the Amazon system). I’ve been using calibre for years (my combined Calibre libraries are nearing 60 GB in size) and I’m still finding out about new features. You could easily come up with a video series on Calibre.

@@chrisconnors7418 Calibre seems like a really powerful, I only used it very briefly. The UX is quite horrible however, and I think that puts of a lot of potential users that doesn't have the time or know how to get into it. With that said, it's only another reason for Maneetpaul to do a beginner friendly tutorial series on it 🙏

@@Ramdapanda That's true. It took me some time to gradually figure things out and that's just the basics.

I love this feature for kindle and I was disappointed when I couldn’t figure out a way for my kobo libra 2! Is there a similar way like send to kindle for kobo? :(

This would be good if you are traveling. You can already have the articles you are interested in reading loaded up on your kindle to read offline.

Incidentally, why so many Kindles? Do you organize them by topic or files in them, eg one kindle for PDFs, another just for emailed articles, another for nonfiction books, etc. I still have my first Kindle (version 3 I think, with keypad and page turn buttons). I stopped using it when I got my updated Kindle, and when I got my kobo I sent my updated Kindle to my sister. Maybe I can put the old one to use again if you have some clever method of using multiple eReaders.

Great question, Chris. I don't use all of them. Only for KZbin videos. I primarily read on my Kindle Paperwhite, but I do use another one, when I do my morning meditation and prayers. I like having a separate device for that.
@chrisconnors74182 жыл бұрын
@@Maneetpaul I can see that. Way back, I'd have a special notebook that was dedicated to exploring my own faith, religion, and relationship with God. Just picking up that notebook triggered a more prayerful meditative thankful state.

Does Kindle scan your personal documents and books so send yourself via email?
@emmanuelmota12 жыл бұрын
Does Amazon scan the content you send to your kindle? For example i purchased and own ebooks that I stripped DRM from and wish to send to my kindle. Is Amazon going to block me sending content I own, to the kindle I own?
@chrisconnors74182 жыл бұрын
I did use this feature a couple of times just to try it out a while back. It didn't then. I also strip DRM from my books. I was even worried that Amazon would block those books on my Kindle when I connected to wifi. They didn't. But that was a couple or few years ago. Since then I just dragged and dropped files into the book folder in Kindle. I now do the same with Kobo, although I have recently started using the Send to Device option in Calibre as it's more convenient.
