@LeCoolFace I'm guessing you have never had someone tell you that you'd be better off dead with out that other person knowing anything about you. Actually if it had been upto the hospital I wouldn't be here. They said I would be blind, deaf, paralysed, brain damaged. So best to turn me off. My mum said no. Guess what they were wrong, first thing was when the hospital photographer took a photo of me and I jumped. My eyes reacted to the light so not blind. Next sound. My mum would walk round the cot calling my name and I would turn to her voice. Next was the fact I recognised faces. I'd move away from the drs and go towards family members. The drs even took off their white coats and I'd still move away from them. Just because you assume something dosent make it right. Ontop of my physical disabilities I also had an abusive father. As a baby I also contracted two deadly viruses one of which killed half the babies in the ICU. Add in the fact that the placenta stopped working near the end of the pregnancy I survived on using my own body fat I had minimal oxygen hence them saying brain damage Yet I survived, I was born, I survived two deadly viruses as I said and I survived my father. Yes we are born with issues but we are also born fighters. We faught to be here and we will keep fighting. I was actually I a test subject on two ops I had. At the moment in time I have a vertibra in the middle of my spine which is being crushed which bring pain other then that I live a full active life. Funny thing is your here due to medical science. If it wasn't for medical science even a non disabled child could be dead. After all hygeene in hospitals, all medical instruments all help support life.

The kitten is struggling a little right now but is overcoming the obstacles set out for her and doing better every day. The plan eventually is to have her middle eye removed so she can function more or less like a normal cat. Her quality of life really is quite good.

@@pippo9830 well, looking at that Frank and Louie cat, it seems that they get used to these conditions and live normally. If there is only 1 brain, to me it means that there is only 1 mind, and the only reason why it has troubles right now is that cats usually have eyes in front of the face, not on cheeks (I believe the middle eye is just super dead), which makes it very hard to understand where they go and what they do. Plus the head itself is bigger. I'm not a biologist, that's just what I think, correct me if I'm wrong. So it learns how to live with that and survives. Every organism in this world can get some critical changes so they only need to adopt.

It doesn't look like she is suffering. She looks like a happy kitten to me. I mean you are not in this cats body so you don't know how it is like... She certainly seems to have got better with co-ordination. Is this 'just' 2 faces or is it also 2 brains within the skull? I would guess that each case needs to be assessed on quality of life/suffering as to whether to prolong that? We all know of cases where enjoyment of life is happening against what might be expected.

It seems more likely that they share a part of the brain. The center eye likely is blind and should be removed to reduce chances of infections. But there was another cat with the same disfigurement, and it lived to be 15. With good medical help, and lots of love, this cat could have a good future ahead of itself.

It only took less than a minute for me to cry.... I'm glad they are getting rid of the middle eye to stop inflections. A lot of people would say to kill cats like this to "end their suffering" but it makes me happy to see them cared for. It's showing how humans are able to give love and those who need help. Giving compassion, helping as well. It breaks my heart to see Duo's troubles but I am also very proud of how much this cat is trying her hardest. I hope we are able to continue to give more care and compassion to those who are 'not normal' inside and out.

That one eye on the middle will have to be removed seems to infected/irritated so I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen as long as the can see it fine. Since it has 4 eyes the other two will survive so they can see from both sides etc.

It was said in the upload that Duo’s nonfunctional central eye will be removed if she lives long enough due to frequent infections & irritation. Also Duo has three eyes in total (including the central one). After her surgery, she’ll be left with two.
