I suspect they have a base rng generator that rolls everything and every time you roll for something it produces a new seed. When you use the lock on the item you basically record the seed on the item itself. After, when you hover/use an orb on the item the rng rolls using the recorded seed instead of the random one. In this way you will get always the same result if you use the same orb type. Different orb types still give different results since they have different possible outcomes. At least I would code it in this way

It sounds more so that the item itself has a seed and that changes when you modify it like with a blessed orb. The lock isn't doing anything other than showing you the outcome of the corrupt function with that seed as input.

@@cyborkninja1139 I remember this is how Diablo1 worked. Each item had a unique ID. If you duped something then dropped both items on the ground, the game would destroy one. I would guess it's similar in POE and whenever you craft something it's regenerating the unique ID for that item.

But the thing is, that he is not lossing a mageblood every time he use a lock, so he is not lossing the lock, he is not wasting a mageblood. in the praxis, he is gaining a mageblood minus the lock for every time the lock has saved him a mageblood. this is literally imprinting for vaaling. no more is going to be a chance to say vaal or no balls if u can see the results

I just looked into this about an hour ago as I saw Waggle’s video. In the game files, there are 2 different variants of the double corrupt currency orb (definitely not the gem corrupt one as that only has 1 variant). So it might be possible to open a new temple and see a different result when hovering over an item. I don’t know the spawn conditions for each orb so it could just be a relic from ages ago and can’t spawn or could be possible under some certain condition

​@@emilybung5890Mirrow services are a thing, and instead of blowing 500 divine on rolling let them do the rolling and you pay a fraction of it for a replica mid league. Don't see how this is a bad thing, just think the drop rate should be better and instead of just the lock it should be the lock + 25 div for a currency sink.

It is a currency, it's an item you have to click onto another item. It's definitely coded as a standard currency. It just doesn't drop and you can't add it to your inventory.

That's not how corruption altar works. It doesn't corrupt the item twice, it just has a bunch of different outcomes where one is 2 implicits :)

If you literally just play the game 16 hours a day for 2 weeks without goofing around too much you'll get a couple mirrors as solo. It's not amazingly unachievable, most good farming strats are few divines/hr

@@Hooga89 i'd assume they'd be found out pretty quickly by people who watch them if between end of stream and start of stream their stash gains a ton of currency, especially if they aren't getting a lot of currency or high end item drops during the stream. This is my first league I've seriously grinded and I'm easily able to make 10-20 divines in a day, the more currency you have the more you invest the higher returns

It rolled the white socket option. When you double corrupt 1 or 4 things will happen 1.) all sockets become white 2.) ITEM VANISHES 3.) item gains double implicits 4.) item becomes random influenced rare So it rolled the white sockets, but there are no sockets, so it just didn't do anything (besides making corrupted).

i think that's what the blessed orb is for, it uses the lock at that time to reveal and alter the stats as a blessed would normally, so the next lock after that is a new reveal, could do the same with divs but it'd be far more costly so blessed is a cheap reset button
