This is the kind of thing performers do right before a concert to combat pre-show nerves/stage fright especially since nervousness can wreak havoc on vocals. I’d have too much heightened stress before a show to do this if I was an artist, but nevertheless great for them to find a very fun entertaining pre show ritual!
