I used to use an Epson ET-2550 kzbin.infoUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.

The BT-12 is incredibly fast and easy to use, but the ink washes out of cotton on the first wash. I have a couple of shirts printed that look SO clean, but I'm afraid to wash them since I know that they'll look years older after doing laundry. Try printing the image twice on the garment without moving the cassette to maximize the life of the print

The question that I always ask with any printer is: How much does the ink cost?

A set of 4 costs about $320 + tax. What's more important than the cost of the ink is the quality of the print. From several owners' comments, the colors wash out quickly. In order to make the colors last longer, they have to print an image twice, which doubles the cost of your ink. So... if the ink cartridges claim you can make 300 prints, you actually could make 150 prints if you decide to print twice for each image.

First idea i had as an "outlandish Print Idea" is a T-Shirt with some kind of origami instruction on it. Some dottet lines to show where to cut and tiny arrows showing how to fold. Maybe with further instructions printed on the inside ^^

@@Pimparel76 My guess is that they are just slapping their name on the machine. It's called private labeling. I don't think neither Roland nor Richo produce the printer. While it is true that the printer is relatively affordable, easy to use, etc., I am doubtful of the quality of the prints. Several comments from owners complained about the colors quickly washing out after being washed. That is not good if it is true. I don't want to deal with customers asking for refunds and getting bad reviews.

No, but i guess the colors is best for filming that way, if you have eg a red t-shirt the red colors would be less visible, of course the white colors would be a lot more visible on a darker shirt

Nice man, i used this for a bit when i worked at a silkscreen fabric. These days they use these machines to do 3 color printing but for 1 or 2 colors a traditional silk method is used.

This is a rebadged Ricoh Ri-100. I used an identical printer and software where I used to work. The only downside is that you can't print on black or dark colours as there's no white ink.

You should washi it a couple of times to see if the direct to print will hold up. OKI heat transfers do hold up if you wash them inside out. (They print white.)

I use sublimation... produces good results. Requires better results the more polyester you have. I do have some spray allowing you to print on 100% cotton. The white in the shirt is the white you need for printing white. It appears this printer requires a white shirt as it didn't lay down a layer of white ink. It also didn't require a pre spray and dry treatment only a heating. I do the same thing with a heat press for sublimation. Some DTG printers are around $20,000 not counting the pre treatment box. Also the print heads need to go through a cleaning cycle or the heads will clog. White toner printers are basically laser printers with a white toner, however they also require you print on a special substate and then transfer the image. If this printer is close to the price of a white toner printer and prints directly to 100% cotton teeshirts it would be cool. There is a myriad of ways to get a design on a shirt. It just depends on how dedicated you are getting business and how much you want to spend and the amount of space you have. Honestly if you have a design for instance for a vacation destination and you could personalize it with a name and charge a premium it would be good... Lets say you lived near a beach and had a business providing local tourist spots low volume shirts.
