You're 100% correct on NFL players not wanting to risk injury to mocap for EA, but why not hire the XFL/USFL/Arena guys to come in, they're not making huge bucks on those contracts, and can get closer to football movements than the pro sprinters, and QB Coaches it looks like they're using for everything.

To be honest the run animations for madden are more realistic. The 2k runner is running very flat footed. I ran track and u are taught to run with the least amount of movement as possible. Those side running shots on madden, when u see the stiff upper body, high knees, long arm swing and that head bob, that is perfect running form. If a NFL player is running the 40 in low 5 to sub 4, they ain’t running like the 2k one. Less movement means less energy wasted. I’ve never liked the 2k running animations, but everything else is better than madden.

Go look at any 100 or 200m runner on KZbin, the form that they run with is closer to Madden than 2k is all I am saying. 2k running animations look like speed walking. This is...this is depressing. Quick story, I stopped being a fan of a single team during the 2017 when the Giants benched Eli for no real reason at all. That was the breaking point for me. Went years just watching as a fan. A few months back, I decide I'm gonna be a Steelers fan. Normally, this is around the time of year I'm into Madden with my favorite team in Franchise. Not happening this year. Not with Madden 21.3 looking like utter shit. I'm honestly just exasperated that the only way I can run with the Steelers, is by playing 04-17. If I really want a deep Franchise experience, I turn on the PS2. Aside from that, the 3 or 4. I'm really just wishing we were in a timeline where EA grew the game over the years properly and we had an experience that we could all enjoy right now. That there were multiple channels where folks are putting out their own indvidual Franchises showcasing how much fun this game is. Oops, that would mean EA has a bunch of folks buying their game, but not throwing more money on top with microtransactions huh? Damnit. Ah well, it's good keeping that money in my pocket for other things then. As you were sir, keep poking holes in this thing.

Blast Processing was real, SEGA were handling it all wrong. EA's "Sapien Technology" is a lie. Literally nothing about it is in the game. Only tweaks from "Field Sense" (which is a collection of game mechanics that were thought lost to time since EA loves ditching them soon after putting them into the game).

The only issue with 24 is the passing trajectory when throwing certain routes and that blocking is questionable as hell when you are up against the blitz🙄 way too many errand throws even at a mid 80 overall passing accuracy

Finally played the full trial just the other day, won my first 8 games, I haven’t played since M20, that means they absolutely didn’t change anything about this game, it looked even worse than M20 with the gameplay, absolutely absurd compared to how far we’ve come since I’ve been playing since M03. I wouldn’t be so upset if It was a crap game the whole series but there was a time where this game was all I would play, to see it fall so hard is disappointing to all the fans who grew up playing this title.

Not necessarily tha case. Yes, a dip in profits could help EA lose the exclusivity license but what really needs to happen is Leadership change in the NFL. That and the BoD needs to go and be replaced by people who aren't overly greedy. After all, NFL were the ones who pushed the exclusivity license on EA.

Because it's an old motion capture and they adjust it via computers. They don't go back in and capture another run cycle, they just alter it for 5 minutes and call it a day.

Another awesome vid exposing EA for the snake-oil carnival barkers that they are. When they announced their SAPiEn technology nonsense I literally chuckled to myself out loud. Frostbite is not a physics-based game engine, it’s animation-based. Therefore, any claim by The Great Clint-dini that SAPiEn improves or adds any modicum of “real-time” physics to the player models is patently false due to being not possible in Frostbite. All Sapien Derp-ology is, is an expanded set of mesh points to attach texture assets and animation triggers to. In other words, at best it should have allowed them to branch animations out to a more diverse range of individual body parts on the player models to give the _illusion_ of physics. This would and should at least make their illusion look more convincing and realistic, but as this excellent comparison shows, it doesn’t! So they couldn’t even get their lie to look like a lie. Atrocious, lol! So what does Sapien technology really do? Nothing. It exists only as another in a long line of EA nonsensical buzzwords to hype up the game pre-launch to increase sales. That’s it. Terrific job continuing to expose this product and it’s bunk technology for the farce that is. Keep ‘em coming! 👍🏆👍
