I love this song... But it's not a break up its about being there as best you can for someone suffering mental illness… he says take your best shot I am still going to be here…. And buts not dementia its bipolar disorder and she was trying to hurt herself and he to stop her… it is a very touching video.

Such a powerful song Chris wrote about mental illness so sad this happens way too often.

The wife is bipolar. She lost her fight. The purpose of the video was to raise mental health awareness. Ben Foster - Male Lead Margarita Levieva - Female Lead Those are some real heavyweights for a music video. Chris wanted Ben and together they came up with the storyline and with Chris' approval Ben convinced Margarita to come on board the project. It took a lot of convincing to get Chris to do the cameo as the bar tender. He was afraid his presence would be a distraction from the message.

I am Bipolar and life feels really messed up sometimes, its a journey and I thank God that I never felt like suicide was the answer.

Me too.... however my mind has been in some pretty dark places but I don't think I could ever do that to my children and grandkids. My oldest sister committed suicide and it left a lot of heartache for her kids, parents and husband. Thanks for this reaction!

My daughter is Bi-Polar and this is 💯 what it looks like. Chris said he’d only do this video if the money got donated to mental health issues.

I too unfortunately am bipolar and sadly you're right about it is 💯a struggle. I would not wish it on my worse enemy but sadly I have passed it on to my daughter and granddaughter. 😓😓 So glad Chris wrote this powerful song and donated to Mental Health. ❤

It’s not a relationship issue or dementia , his gf has mental health issues and he’s trying to help her but she loses the battle and takes her own life. This song and video was made as a way to raise awareness about mental health

I'm 70 yrs old...had a girlfriend in college, just about 50 years ago, during the age of free sex, cheap dope and fantastic rock n roll. She was hot as hot could be, and a wild beast in bed...till she'd start crying and doing crazy stuff to hurt herself and others. Being with her went from being a 24 hour a day party, to being an episode of the "Twilight Zone", and back-forth without warning. One evening she and several girlfriends were skinny dipping and dancing around the pool deck, like a cabaret show for us guys. She ran in to the house, giggling about how bad she needed to pee. 20 minutes later, I went looking for her...found her hanging by a leather belt in an upstairs closet. I don't think any of us had ever heard the term BI-POLAR. for many years i blamed myself for not seeing what was happening inside her head. Our whole gang used to say she was crazy, but, but weacted like that was a compliment..I was too busy getting high and getting laid.

I can relate to this. I'm in my late 60s and had a sister who went undiagnosed from her teen years until the day she decided to take her own life. She was 4 yrs older than me and I went thru hell sharing a room with her. She would go berserk without rhyme or reason and cause pure hell in our home... I have PTSD from her abuse all my childhood and even in our adult life. I suffered many nights in silence in my attempts to keep World War III from breaking out in our home... 😢 For many years I was fully convinced that she was demon possessed. I have two younger siblings who still believe that. It's sad that there was no real knowledge about mental illnesses back then. I was diagnosed with bipolar about 10 yrs ago and didn't want to accept the diagnosis and fought being labeled "bipolar" for a long time until after going thru three psychiatrist who all gave me the same diagnosis I finally surrendered to the fact. It's a horrible disease to live with. I am on medication for it and for the most part okay.. but every now and then without any notice I find myself in a dark place.. I would never end my life for several reasons but mainly because I could not do that to my children, grandchildren and siblings. So sorry you went thru that horrible experience but glad you shared this. Someone out here probably needs to read it! Blessings! 😢😢

Its not dementia. Bipolar disorder, formally known as manic depression. Highs and lows.

My interpretation is that she has a miscarriage and falls into a deep depression blaming herself ( go ahead and tell them how wonderful I am) and can't recover. I came very close to losing my wife to the same thing but thankfully We got the help we needed.

Seems like Borderline or Bipolar. Both are awful. I lost my husband to suicide..he was bipolar. This song gets me every time. A huge reminder to look past people's anger as so many times it's a front for fear or pain.
