I've been an A7X fan since about 05. This, and their previous album, are nothing like how they began. The maturity as musicians over the years is absolutely insane and as a musician myself, I'm just blown away by the composition and arrangement of this song. I'm not sure what it is about this song but it's had a profound impression on me.

I’m starting to learn this from comments 😀. Sounds great sound! Yeah, I found that too after hearing it the first time. I’ve since gone and listened to the song a bunch and brought the lyrics up. I think the lyrics symbolise a journey to afterlife, and bar coded labels in the video make me think ‘is it real or not’. But I could be wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️. Thank you for commenting 💜

more i listen to it more i get addicted to it, but first time hearing it was so weird and mixed emotions that i instantly started listening to it on repeat. it has so many layers that it's imposiible to catch everything at once, every more listen reveals every little secret they put in this song. it's gonna be long three months before we get album (especially after teasing us with this "controversial" song) but god damn this song will get me throu that time quickly. i am greatful to be fan of a band that isn't scared of changes and doing "unpopular" stuff.

I’m so glad you’ve gone through the same experience with this song for the first time too. I did find there was a lot to take in. Since this I’ve listened and sung along quite happily to their song 😀. I have two recommendations from them that are more their traditional style. Beast in the Harlot (Live in the LBC) or you could watch the music video for The Stage. It's their previous record.

A few softer tracks from Avenged Sevenfold tracks for you to try would be Dear God, Afterlife, So far away (try to work out the story in the video, will make you cry), Seize the Day and if you're feeling very brave try out A Little Piece of Heaven... Aww thank you! I’ve known about Avenged Sevenfold since mid 2000s too, but I haven’t ever gotten into them, just because I listened to other genres more back in the day. But I’m really loving this song, I find myself singing the chorus around the house sometimes 😅. Afterlife and A little piece of heaven are on my list from other suggestions, so in essence that’s another lil’ vote 🥰. I might start adding all these suggestions into a spreadsheet! This is close to 2016's album The Stage, but too different from the other albums. Actualy, Avenged Sevenfold has been constantly changing.

Really enjoy your reactions. A7X has a lot of great songs in their catalog. Sinister Gates has some of the most epic guitar solos in “mainstream” rock. I’d also highly suggest reacting to Shinedown if you want some more awesome modern rock. Maybe start with “Dead Don’t Die”
