Tortilla talk question: did you ever figure out how to make beads or drill holes in the polished rocks that you’ve made? I remember you were working on this and trying to do this, but it seemed very very challenging. I would love to have a natural stone Rosary made for me. We were pregnant at the same time both times; I have a 5 year old son and an almost 3 year old daughter. You have always inspired me to be authentically myself and not to be afraid of my mental health diagnoses (Dermatilimania, ADHD, GAD) because if you can share your everyday life with all of us and cry a lot, then maybe I can face my life head on and be brave too. You inspire me to embrace vulnerability and stay true to myself. The work you do is needed and important and means so much to me. As a single mom who works part-time and is also in her third year of her bachelor's degree, my life can be busy and stressful. I love that I can count on twenty minutes a day where I can sit down and watch your vlogs and take a break from my responsibilities. Every kid or grandchild I've known loves a Cardboard Box more so than any expensive toy! I've experienced and witnessed this phenomenon over and over again. Not only do they enjoy playing with it, but they also have fun coloring and turning it into a work of art. It's always so much fun! 😍

Nurse here : The claw clip being dangerous while driving is so true! It indeed can get embedded in your head with impact. But I think we can all just take a reminder to be more mindful of random things in our cars that could go flying around if god forbid there was an accident. Even loose pens can cause serious traumas.

My nephew was in the PICU earlier this year, and in the hospital for longer so my sister got to know the nurses well there! One of the nurses said they have had to pick many pieces of claw clips out of peoples scalps after accidents while in the ICU! So your fear is very valid!!

TTQ: Were you able to trick Flynn with the not-chunky chunky peanut butter in his sandwich? Inquiring minds need to know! By the way, I am floored by Flynn’s knowledge and compassion. You are doing an incredible job. I am a 3rd grade teacher and I am constantly impressed by him (his newly made books, his passion and knowledge for sea life, etc.) and even more impressed when I remember he is a kindergartener not a 3rd grader. I wish half the parents encouraged so much kindness and exploration as you do. Something good happening in my life: I got my official autism diagnosis recently and I have applied for accommodations with the accessibility services at my school! I have my appointment in a few weeks, so I hope I’m able to learn from this application process so I can do it every semester from now on. Also!! I am going to be ASMing for my college’s production of Ride the Cyclone!!!

I'm having to be a mostly at home caregiver for my MIL who has dementia while also helping my teen with autism with college and decorating the house to make me feel HAPPY and festive has made such a huge difference with finding some joy SOMEWHERE because it's certainly not from caregiving someone who has always disliked me. Anyway, . I started last year and this year I just expanded on it. YES, it's retail therapy, but if it works helping me. It gives me something to look forward to see and do.

Cardboard boxes are so the way to go, I have made a 8 foot rocket with controls inside and the kids loved it, I have made a puppet show with characters. Hi Colleen and everyone, I'm Dora and I overshare a lot lmao. Anyways. I've been feeling this way for over 2 weeks now. Well, a little over a month ago I was supposed to see taytay in Vienna and we all know what happened to those shows. I cried that night like I never have before in my life. I woke up in agony the next morning. That day, although beautiful as I got to talk to swifties who were going thru the same, was filled with sadness and sorrow. I couldn't sleep that night and a few more that followed. I was just devastated the entire week. Anyways, about 2 weeks after that I unexpectedly got invited to my childhood friend's wedding that happened that weekend. It was truly one of the most joyful days in my life. I played with her on the street when we were kids and now I got to watch her get married. Wow. Anyways, now I try to look back on that day and cherish that to overshadow the sadness from the canceled shows. While I do cherish that, what I lost is still so devastating. I feel so ungrateful/selfish for being sad over the show while I got to experience one of the greatest joys of my life. But I just do. And still think about it on a daily basis. I will never get to experience the eras tour. It's hard to come to terms with. Sorry for this long message and maybe being over dramatic and thanks for listening if you came to the end ❤️

It's my birthday today! I'm trying so hard to be excited and feel blessed, but birthdays in your 30's are just different- for me at least. I think part of what makes it hard for me is that I thought things would be so different by my age. All I ever wanted to be a nurse, find a wonderful partner, and be a Mom. Instead I had to quit nursing because of health issues, never found a good partner, cannot have children due to more health issues, and spend most of my time in bed because of pain. But- I DO have a lot to be thankful for and I'm just trying to remember that ❤

As someone with ADHD I find myself relating to so many struggles you’ve talked about. My question is: Is there anything you do to accommodate your ADHD that helps you? I have several “hacks” that have helped a lot. For example, I almost exclusively use paper plates because dishes have a tendency to pile up in my house. I don’t fold towels, I have a dedicated towel drawer that clean towels go into unfolded. I have bins in the main rooms of my house that I use as catch-alls for items that may not belong in said room, so that I can more easily put things away when I’m ready to AND it keeps the rooms from looking too cluttered. I’d love to hear if you have any tips like this!

The easiest dessert ever: 1 can of pumpkin spice filling, 1 can of condensed milk. I might add pumpkin spice and/or cinnamon and a dash of vanilla. You could top it with seeds or whipped cream to make it pretty. We eat it cold, or heat it up for a few minutes to help it thicken up, but OH MY GOSH, it's better than pumpkin pie in my opinion.

Colleen! I was at Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto and there were TWO types of Cuttlefish there - I was thinking of Flynn and the family the whole time. If you are ever back in Canada, highly recommend for the kiddos! There is even a “pet a ray” tank where they could go and pet the different types of rays

Hi Colleen (and everyone) ! I have been watching every vlog since Covid. Your vlogs always bring a smile to my face. You and your family feel like family. I have never commented but I felt inspired to share my happy moment. I recently became a nicu nurse and I am truly so proud to be able to say that. But it’s been a very difficult transition for me. I would watch your vlogs with the twins when they were in the NICU and hoped I could care for babies like them but also comfort parents like you and Erik. I became a nicu nurse almost 6 months ago now. And it’s been one of the hardest things I’ve set out to do. And today, I had a very good shift. My baby took all of her bottles and I was able to comfort a mom during a very difficult time. I thought of you and Maisy and how you had a favorite nurse that advocated for you and Maisy to get her discharged. I was that nurse today because I advocated for my baby and her mama. That is my happy moment. So thank you Colleen. You inspire me to be a better nicu nurse every single day. When I want to comfort parents, I tell them about your experiences by saying “my friend also had twins in the nicu… she felt this way too”. Your nicu experience inspires me but also reaches my patients and families too! I hope that knowing that gives you a smile ❤️
