Love my Ugreen Nexode charger but it can very occassionally be a bit flaky with my Steam Deck (slow charger warning) or keep turning on and off with one of my iOS devices. Very rarely but is annoying when it happens.

When I travel, which I travel a week a month, I have two iPads, iPhone, AirPod Max, AirPods Pro, and Apple Watch Ultra. I switched over to a UGREEN charger based off your recommendations months ago. I can travel with just one 65 watt charger and charge all of my devices. UGREEN has simplified my tech pouch to just one charger and a few cables for all my needs. I recommend UGREEN too.

Anker > uGreen 2:18 This charger, for example, is way overpriced and gets WAY WAY too hot. See MobileReviewsEh's video on 100W+ chargers. I went with Aohi's 140W when it's price dropped below 70 bucks.
@StardustLegacyFighter6 ай бұрын
I'd consider AOHI if they had a strong presence in the UK, but over here we mainly have Ugreen and Anker. That being said, I'm considering the Anker GaN Prime 100W charger, as it supports 100W on either USB-C port, unlike the equivalent Ugreen Nexode Pro 100W, and it's not that much more expensive.
@danielbrackman399 Жыл бұрын
The US versions look super neat with their foldable pins. However I think UGreen have missed a trick in not incorporating similar design functionality in their EU and UK products. I bought an iPad mini a couple of months ago in the UK and the Apple charger that came with it had a very neat three pin foldable design similar to the US version. So it can be done. It’s just a thought. I have UGreen cables and they are excellent so I will watch closely to see how their chargers develop further. Keep up the good work.
@PatrickRambles Жыл бұрын
Thanks Daniel! I agree, it would be lovely to see that functionality on non US chargers. I would imagine it's a space thing. These GaN chargers are packed in deliberately small bodies. US prongs are extremely thin, compared to UK and EU plugs, so they can be integrated. To do the same for UK/EU plugs would require a lot of space inside the body and we would end up with a bulkier charger, perhaps defeating the purpose of a GaN charger.

UGreen do have folding pins on the UK models; I've bought the 3x65W, 1x100W and 2x45W (not all for me!) and all of those had folding pins. I've only seen one that didn't and it was a single-port budget model.

Yes, their GaN charger is good. Recently I got a Ugreen 300W GaN charger. It's probably my favorite one for it's convenience
@changedwin Жыл бұрын
Ugreen coming with amazing products. However, the Cookie looks like a carbon copy of Nomad Slim 35W and 65W charger. One question: Does these UGreen GaN chargers also function the same way as other GaN chargers as in you need to unplug all other cable and only plug 1 usb C cable to get the max power from 1 port? This has been a problem with most GaN chargers (even the ones from Anker). If there are 2 usb C cables plugged in but only 1 device is being charger, it does not output max power. Keep up with your rambles!
@PatrickRambles Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, if you want the full 140W from the single port, and you have all the other ports plugged as well, you're probably gonna lose some juice on the main port. It's inevitable, as there is a cap on max power and it will have to be distributed over multiple ports.

Do these also work with the USB-C to MagSafe cable from Apple? Anker in their 100W adapter excluded the MagSafe charger for M2 MacBooks explicitly and I wonder why and if those chargers from Ugreen work with MagSafe.
@PatrickRambles Жыл бұрын
Hey! I checked this for you. Here's Ugreen's response: "It can use the C- MagSafe cable to charge the M2 Macbooks, but it only supports 60W Max charging speed(20V 3A), and cannot reach 100W output, which is not a cable's factor, but the reason for M2 Macbooks equipment."

See the only problem for me is whether I trust the brand. I don't know if Apple has some secret sauce in their chargers or not (to communicate a specific charging curve to the device) so I've always been a bit weary of 3rd party chargers. And it's not like similar brands haven't had issues in the past (I know I shouldn't lump other Chinese brands together, but that was the case for those "Amazon" products).

I know Apple tells us to use only proprietary chargers (of course they would), but don’t you charge all your other devices with whatever you’ve got laying around? Battery management is pretty sophisticated these days so it’s a little hard to believe that Apple wouldn’t have a power regulating system built in. Never had any problems using third party chargers.
