Good Morning Modern Steaders! What has the weather been like where you live?
@susiessoapstuff14596 жыл бұрын
Cold here in DFW, but nothing like what you have. The snow plowing is fascinating. I have never seen the process, as we have no snow removal equipment in the south. We had some 23 degree nights, but now it is 40-60 range, much like we get in January normally.

Oregon is in a La Nada, which is really bizarre. Very mild, no rain. That means a monsoon year will follow, which is absolutely awful. Next year will be very dark, wet winter.

Morning Al , in burlington , nc , 40 -50 plus during the days 30's at night , this thursday night 24 . I know this is tshirt temps for you folks :) A staggering amount of RAIN ! It was a dry summer down here. I see the weather patterns changing to fewer days of rain and snow but greater volumes each event. As the oceans and earth temperature increase. It will cause more water to stay in the atmosphere until the right conditions for it to change from vapor to liquid. This is why more folks are going to greenhouse gardening . More controlled growing conditions . Here is a food shocker. Bell peppers from Holland, grass feed beef from Australia on the food lion shelves . Our state , NC has a large and well supported grass feed cattle farmers group. I shared your winter tire brand name with some northern friends. Thanks for all you share and do Al. It is a joy to see what is going to happen next , ha ha .

8:19 I worked for the phone company for 30 years. They gave us pole saws to trim trees. Some days you did as much landscaping as phone repair. But the saws they gave us were really high quality and attached to our fiberglass lay up sticks so you could limb trees from the ground. The stronger you were, the higher you could reach adding 8 ft sections of layup stick end to end.

Morning Al. It never snows here (Barbados) but it is generally mid 80's into 90's now we are dipping into the mid 70's with a high of like 84 so cold for us. Cooler anyway. My main concern is my son who has for the past three years gotten a cold that developed into pneumonia or a chest infection. He takes an asthma inhaler now. Got to keep him warm but otherwise we are adjusting I think. My daughter watched one of your videos and she said Olivia is lucky to have snow to play in. I reminded her it would be biting cold and she would probably stay in bed wearing all her shirts under the comforter lol.

Christmas day of 1963, we had greenish grass in Nashua with temps in the high 30s and not much snow yet at the foot of Mt Washington at my grandfather's highway camp. Climate change. every year. At least you do not have another month of cold mud. Boise Idaho has 27 in the early morn to 40s in the afternoon. Same latitude as Littleton but 2000 feet higher. Poured concrete last week and it will not finish curing. The moisture evaporating out of the ground has cooled the ground substantially. Holding off on switching to studless snow tires.

Nice Snow Al, down here in the Tampa Bay Area we have signs of a cold winter. Yes this far South the nature signs are my 3 Oak trees were full of acorns and now are falling onto my driveway, almost twice as many as in past years. It’s 72 here at 10:15 AM. When you talked about letting the goats out I though maybe you could fence in part or all of your rock walls so when spring comes, you know it’s not that far off, your goats would be ready to eat all those thousands of shoots that will be growing in and around all the area you opened up to to more sunshine. By for now.

I do that and now my spice jars look like they are a set from Pinterest because they all match and have custom labels. I buy the jars with the cheapest herbs/spices, like garlic powder, (because I'm primarily buying the jars) and watch for spice sales coming up around the holidays.
