The irony? I have 100's of hours in Starfield and have virtually unlocked the entire skill tree. Did a few iterations of NG+ and learned this. I can create better armor. My current armor exceeds NG+ armor 4 iterations away. I've seen level 400+ NG+ compltionists with hand crafted armor, totally to personal preference far beyond Starborn armor. It's garbage, fit for a drawer. The powers are pathetic for my play style as void actually overrides my steath build and mobs swarm me. I use a professional hard-target with penatrator rounds and have killed 4 targets with a single bullet. Damage near 4K excluding critical. The other powers are toys you play with and forget. They just pull everything onto you. I play on very hard everywhere on land and in space. I have 9 crew members on a modified Star Eagle with 6000 cargo, and I melt everything. Starborn ships are crap. I can deep scan space and fast travel without using menus, the fact that your strutting around in garbage tells me one thing. You haven't really played Starfield.

Instead of buying resources to upgrade your items, try to only mine for them. Going to a store to buy 20 titanium is easy when you want to upgrade a weapon. Finding planets with titanium and then mining it is work but adds to the realism. It also gives you more reasons to land on planets instead of just finding an enemy base to loot over and over again.

It's not easy to role play in Starfield because the only companions that have a fleshed out back story, side quests, and are romanceable are the 4 main Constellation companions. I understand this is just the base game we have right now. But each faction really should have at least 2 or 3 romanceable companions. Maybe those will come with time. Having said that, for me, to keep it fresh I always do what I think will be fun to do in the moment. One day I decided to collect all the snow globes. That was fun for a while. Another day I decided to buy a Manor House in Akila City and decorate it wth every old earth object I could find. It's now me and Andreja's primary residence. Another day I decided to tool around the galaxy and collect every unique book I could find. Now they are all on shelves in my Manor home. Stuff like that. Whatever I dream up that I think might be interesting or fun to do, I just go do it. That's why I have 100s of hours in this game. You can damn near do anything. So that's what I do.

Last thing. Always play on very hard. Even if you reset after you land your ship. It sets mob spawn rates and the loot pool. It's the difference between fighting 8 or 28 in a battle. NPC or animal. Eventually, you can just leave it there.

Not sure what platform you play on. But to avoid alot of loading screen blues. Use your hand scanner from a distance on your ship. Portal straight into the captains chair. If you're at the Den or in a city. Use your hand scanner again. You can portal to any district with a click, if unencumbered. In soace, visit every star on the mao, just jump til you're done, if you have the ship. It's like cartography you have been rhere so it unlocks pathways for fast travel.

I've started a new approach to the game that I found more enjoyable. I picked a high level manufactured product (Vytinium Fuel rods) and broke down the entire production chain into sub-products and resources. I then begin building the production chain, starting at the bottom, establishing my outposts. I sell the sub-products until I can build the next level of the production chain and then I start selling the next level of product. I then start automating the prior level of product. Eventually I have built the entire production chain and making a ton of money and XP. Production is my main source of income and I use the money to build and upgrade my ships. Now I am at the point where I start doing the major quests. Any exploration I do is mainly to find the best planets and locations for resource gathering sites. So I do get some exploration in, but it's with purpose, not just random looking around. I don't grind POIs. I just go the the ones quests take me to, or I just happen to be near one and need a change of pace. If I NG+ again, I will probably pick a different High Level product to manufacture, or maybe two lower level products that share common resources, so the process will take me to different planets.

I'm in my 3rd playthrough and am barely touching the main quest. Yeah, I think I'll stay here a while. I don't fast travel any more unless I'm tired or I walked a few too many kilometers away and am not overburdened. Gawd, surveying can be very boring, but I'm doing more now than ever now that my surveying skills are increasing. However, I am most interested in ship building and about a third of my time or more in game is committed to that. Give that a try if you haven't yet. Go earn some money and buy a clunker or borrow one from a Spacer. Lots of fun. Thanks for the vid, S

Some people don't want to use the New game plus . Personally the only thing I do on my first playthrough is the main mission . Who wants to join the UC vanguards and try to take out terrormorphs with low level equipment ? How are you possibly supposed to do the Ryugin missions without having already gotten void form ? The same thing goes for the Crimson fleets UC missions . Without void form the sneak mechanics in this game are complete garbage . You also get some cool new starts with the new game . I went to the lodge and was greeted by five different versions of myself on one playthrough . Another playthrough I was greeted by a bunch of school-aged kids that were using the lodge as a playhouse . Depending on what you have done so far in previous games . I'm sure there's a bunch of other possible different starts .

Here's a build breakdown for a fully actualized modded Starfield weapon. Commander's Adnaced Hard Target Bull Barrel Recon Laser Sight Recon Scope Suppressor Tactical Grip Penetrator Rounds High Powered Point is, that Legendary preoccupation to many players. You can generally out craft most standard drop Legendary weapons.
@Striderspawn8 ай бұрын
But, ... a craftsman can fix bad Legendary weapons. Most of them. To many are generally crap. good against robots, good in the air, med drop perk. Most low tier. I've never seen a legendary hard target. I'm not sure if it's in the loot pool or just that frigging rare.
@brettcordell16848 ай бұрын
Try not using weapons at all, only powers. Not easy, but who wants easy right?
@-_-DatDude8 ай бұрын
To piggyback off your suggestion, only use unarmed before the you unlock powers and call it the Son Goku build. 😂 Jokes aside, a powers only build in NG+10 is very doable with meds like Supermassive Black Heart and items like Quantum Essence.

I don't use fast travel in ANY games that have it. I really thought I was the only one on earth who did this. In fact all these rules is how i regularly play. I never liked cheats and short cuts. @Striderspawn8 ай бұрын
BTW, I'm not anti-ng+ at all. I ran four laps in that race. It just delivers what I never use. Loot pools, as programmed, are tier driven with the best being exceeding rare. You've noticed most legendary weapons have very common perks. +10 against robots, med pack potential loot, etc. In this playthrough, I lingered longer and finally got a Kodama with +10 Anti-Personnel and explosive rounds. I entered the Unity after beating them both for their weapons and walked back out. Now I'm focused on building an outpost system, ships, and an arsenal while I wait for the DLC's. Personal choice. If they tailored it better. Where you keep the prior suits and ships got gold trim and visually appealing changes to the interior I'd be more compelled. At least one could display the journey. As it is, it's +10% to everything in the game times 10 iterations except ships which is 6. Everything feels the same. Ubisoft does NG+ evolutionary with you building upon prior work. Bethesda drops you nearly naked in a mine.

Interesting , Thank You. lot's of interesting ideas, now to get past entangled (again)
@Striderspawn8 ай бұрын
Random thoughts. Why, the last time I entered the Unity i turned around and walked out. Loot pools are calibrated and the best weapons are exceedingly rare. After hundreds of location raids i got a Legendary Kodama with +10 Anti-Personnel and explosive rounds. I modded to perfection and use it in close quarters combat. I had just defeated both Starborn and had both their weapons at exceedingly high levels. Why throw them away? The game auto-levels to your place in the game. I'm building an arsenal of gems, very rare gems that i can take into future DLC's.

Power Leveling 101 Beasts for exp and npcs to drive your economic engine. Early game, loot the Wild for everything. Pick every weed, mine every rock. Crawl back to your ship if needed. But with Personal Atmosphere you won't have too. Put it all in the magic storage box in the research lab at the Lodge By the time I started doing research seriously, I had 80% already there. Beasts: Early Game: Hawking I in the Hawking System. By the early game, I mean when leveling slows down because you're so leveled, you need an amplifier. Look for the long necked Flocking Marnokk Herbavore in the Frozen Dunes Biome. Land on Very Hard (critical). You can see them from miles away. Shoot one. They ALL come from everywhere. Level 80 beasts. Herbivores give less exp and don't argo as easily as a predator, but these are dangerous in numbers. Bring bullets; lots of bullets. Late stage character leveling. I still use Hawking I, but I added a second one with a duel purpose. Introducing Schrodinger III Starbase (ship building outpost), Schrodinger System on the obvious planet. Hills Biome. Build a landing pad with a small windmill for power and a sleeping bag (exp boost). Sprint into the woods and scan for the elusive and very dangerous Swarming Foxbats. Up to level 110. There is also a high exp herbivore there. They are mortal enemies. Hunt carefully stealthman. Later, you will add 6 animal husbandry huts to your base camp. Breed the now scanned Foxbats. Build these huts in that biome. It will also draw the wild ones in. Land, work on your Star Eagle (Cuthbert Mark II), named after my favorite character in Stephen Kings Gunslinger series, apt name indeed). Don't just sit and farm the huts. Use it as a way point for ship building and learning outpost basics. I shoot the huts, then hunt the hills and leave after working on my ships. A ship builder landing pad consolidates ship parts, most of them, from all vendors in the universe. Except for experimental engines, etc. Stealth again. Bullets again. If I want a couple of skill points, this is my goto place. But don't just farm. Go learn to play Starfield. There is too much already. Call it Part One.

My goal is to wait for at least a 50% reduction in price, or come in a deal with the DLC when released. I do like to go off script in games to see what's out there and try to collect extras. I can't see this being my main title to play this year, so it will be a side quest to the games I try to submerse myself in. Saying that I am enjoying Mafia III Definitive Edition at the moment, even with the built in bugs and frame lag, as I purchased that with Mafia 1 & 2 for under £10 a few months back.
