No need to take it so seriously, you're free to consider the games your head-canon but officially they are not. If the original writer every decides to continue the setting they will pick up where the books left off as if the games never existed, any future games or series will be based on the books as if the games never existed because according to canon they do not. :)

If the novelist had direct involvement in the writing across all 3 games, then that would mean both books and games share the canon that he writes and/or retcon. What people often don‘t catch up on, is that this is also yens character arch completed. During skellige you can find out she studied if she could sacrifice all her magic to be able to bear child again and if witchers can be un-stirilited as well. She was contemplating fiving up all power and becoming a mother with geralt. All the bitchy poltting was so she had no loose ends and she would never be threatened by intrigue after leaving it all behind, should she really decide to do so. Then in this line of events geralt confirmed her feelings but she also realized that she already is a mother to ciri and doesn‘t need to risk all she has with ciri and geralt in a ritual that might kill her when her dream is there already. In the end she simply retires to the gardens and reads fiction and not even terribly good one at that cause she left all the real world politics behind anyways. She and Geralt both get the perfect amd logical conclusion to their personal journeys. I just really hope they don‘t play any significant role in Witcher 4. i want them to stay at corvo bianco and be done with their stories. Maybe a little visit by ciri for some special trining and that‘s it.

She's surprisingly nice here. During most of the story she's snarky so I chose Triss.

Tell me you romanced triss beforehand without actually telling me. If you choose Yennefer from the start, her only outburst throughout the W3 is her teleporting the bed out of the castle. She is much nicer and calmer if you don't romance everything and her demeanor gradually softens until the end. It is also completely rational, because at the start of the story she's angry at Geralt for sleeping around and with the right choices she becomes much more calm and nice.

Played all the games (Haven't read the books but I know that book-Triss is more of a trickster than a real lover), and Geralt-Yen always looked like a toxic couple in a turbulent "open" relationship. And it's Witcher we are talking about. Geralt trying to sleep with every attractive woman is a mini-game in this series, like Gwent. You even collect them as cards in Witcher 1. There are jokes about Geralt's womanising in the plot. The game directs you to flirt. So, if you're right, this means bad story design by CDPR.

The only thing I don’t like about Blood and Wine is that post-game interactions with your partner like this were far from enough. I really wish we could get some decent relationship system rather than just one repeating conversation. Why? Because greater the game then bigger the void in our soul after finishing the game, and this one is definitely one of the bests lol 😢
