I just got back from a place called Bikaner, in the Rajasthan province of North Western India -- and I found myself at a temple where a man worships 25,000 rats. Not only does he (and all people in his community) live among these rats, but they actually believe that they are the reincarnation of their dead family members. Aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents and cousins - in the form of dirty rats!!

You may be surprised, I've had both cats and rats as pets at the same time, and them living together, growing together, they were always friendly and gentle with each other. But I wouldn't trust any random cat with my pet rat. I also had a friend that had a black labrador, and a white rat, and the rat used to ride on the dogs back, they played together too.

Usually dog and cat temples are kept tidy, this temple is not. While I agree every creature is equal that doesn’t mean their life is the same thing. Some animals are predators and some are prey, we humans are just at the top of the food chain and can control this. Also no offense but who was killed for thinking the earth was round? Just to be clear, I'm an indian and I had the same aversion as Drew while watching the video, if not more.
