Between the seats wasn't a navigator port, it's a Cd player. This car has 160 hp [probably 180 modified] compared to the previous iterations that made about 90. it is way more fun to drive than most MX5's. The 'Skyactive' allows for higher compression ratios and more HP. And 100 thousand miles on a Mazda 2.0? Barely even broken in......they go regularly 300 thou plus!. You have to at least drive one of the 'New' ones. you'll be amazed.

Skyactiv is Mazda's direct injected engines. There are different prefixes and suffixes that mean other things, but regular Skyactiv means DI.

I had a 2003 Mazda MX5. It was also a special limited edition in cerion silver with a lovely blue ragtop. Manually operated and a full convertible. Only 100 were imported into Australia. I sold it 2.5 years later with only about 25,000 kilometres on the clock and bought a 2005 Subaru Outback. Yeah, I know WHAT WAS I THINKING! I still miss it 21 years later. 😀

Hey Randy, glad to see you’re feeling better! Skyactiv is just Mazda’s brand of fuel efficient technology. It includes features like direct injection and cylinder deactivation, though some features are dependent on which variant of the engine you get. I have a 2.5L Mazda3 and she gets really good gas mileage for how sporty and fast she is. Also, I see a lot of hail damage on your channel - I’m from up north where we don’t get hail like that. Other than cosmetic damage, does hail pose other issues to cars? Like functional or mechanical issues? Just curious.

Only thing to note about that corvette is that it is a very base model, so that decreases its value a bit. The 2lt and 3lt have heated and ventilated carbon bucket seats.

I would not doubt that hr-v had the security system on, my Malibu had the same problem but I needed my other vehicle to boost it to fully start it. It turned over but didn’t start before that.

Skyactiv makes a gas engine combust like a diesel. At first it uses the spark plugs like any other gas engine, but when it warms up, it's able to rely just on compression to combust

That Trax probably has a seized engine from gm's famous timing chain failure on those engines. Some broke as early as 40 k

The diesel version was much better had around 400.000 Kilometers but the rust killed the car😢

Just a good guess on the Chevy traxx, I've seen that exact issue when security chip in key would get deprogrammed and or lose programming and it would prevent starting just like the honda you tried.

Definitely under Corvette. If you can get it for what you think but make this one a quick turnaround. I would send it through an auction house when you are done fixing it and cleaning it up

Not sure if someone else mentioned it, but the Mazda Miata is supposed to sound like that at cold start up. We have a CX9 and it’s just the cold start and after 15-20 seconds it goes away.

Hey Randy a couple of things. On that Miata if you just replace the hood and maybe the trunk lid with one the same color you would have a lot less PDR work. Also on that Chevy Trax I have a Chevy Cruze that did the same thing it wouldn't start. I also lost the power steering. I disconnected the battery for about an hour and reconnected it and it started right up and power steering was back.. Had to have been some kind of glitch in the computer. After it was reset it was fine.

The reason that Miata sounded so bad when it started is because they actually retard the ignition timing on those engines for like 10-20 seconds on a cold start to warm up the catalytic converter faster for emissions. It's part of that 'Skyactiv' technology that's supposed to get you better efficiency, sportiness, and reduced emissions. My 2016 mazda3 does the same thing

That Miata, with the mileage and the header/exhaust mods is probably a $14k-$15k car retail without the hail damage. Not knowing the condition of the brakes and clutch, and keeping in mind it was likely drove hard and put away wet, you would probably be at least $5k into PDR and repairs. So if you can get it for under $8k it might be worth the gamble? Oh and as said that is an RF model with the retractable hard top. There is another model that is the traditional soft top.

I love that red Camaro. I’m a Camaro man. I’ve been driving Camero since 67 first car is a 69Z 28 gray with white stripes and I’ve had many more since then until I got hit by a car and I went on disability I went back to work for so many years like 20 then I couldn’t work longer so what on disability with disability you can’t afford to drive Kamt here anymore. Can’t get a come out anymore. It’s really sad. I did have a 86 Camaro and411 flood happened 2011 that took the Camaro. I had to cause I couldn’t do the work on. It went over and I couldn’t do all the work claims so I had to sell it and I have not had. I’ve been looking for ones that I can afford they’re hard to find.
