I think “everything” is a terrible word to use on a card. i hate to get all philosophical, but “everything” is up to interpretation and begs for players to make cases for the boundaries of a word whose bounds is that which exists. is everything fourth wall breaking? if not, why not? shouldn’t it refuse ante, tapping, and death? it would be easier to have a list of its protections than not and wotc failed to implement fun by having an expensive casting cost on a card that doesn’t live up to its own text

Can't be blocked doesn't make a lick of sense. Not taking damage from the blocking creature makes plenty of sense. But the idea that it can't even step out infront of a protected creature is just goofy. I can let it slide but it's really pushing the boundary of rules lawyer vs thematic sense. You're goofy for the summoning sickness one. He's still being summoned, takes a turn to get going. You're right that the board wipes shouldn't work... but see that would interfere with a white spell. And we can't have that. Teferi gets his safe space forever, no threats please. Only red board wipes can be interfered with. Hell they don't even want indestructible to work anymore, so they make sure there's a mass exile always in standard.

But at the very least, if it goes all the way to making you a ghost able to pass through that color creature... it should protect you from ANY mass spell effect. Board wipes shouldn't work, Balance shouldn't even "see" the creature to count it etc.

I think Yugioh did it better in this case, their keyword for something like this is _”unaffected by other card effects”_ which truly makes it really hard to get rid of. This ability is almost always limited to God-Type or niche cards. However, in Yugioh, you attack creatures directly, so they can often still die, likewise, they have tribute summoning, which is basically sacrificing, and there’s a bunch of cards that let you tribute your opponents monsters. So, they can’t stick around indefinitely.

E should stand for effects. Destroy all creatures is an effect of Wrath or God. But on the other side of the same coin, if you cast Assault Strobe to give him double strike, it’ll actually not because he cannot be effected by effects. Progenitus exists as printed and will stay that way. Casting Polymorphist’s Jest turning him into a 0/1 Frog is just too silly and unrealistic

Frankly progenesis makes for a terrible comander. Does nothing to aid the deck and cost 10. The deck would have to revolve around him entirely. And keep him protected from the things thay can harm him. Also, players need to be able to interact with this creature

You can see how the two things you just said are contradictory : "It's a drain on your resources, an expensive creature that costs a shitload of mana, that the deck has to carry and be built around" "Also, everybody should be able to stop it" Like, the thing costs ten mana, none colorless. It's (usually) in the command zone. If it gets on the battlefield from the command zone, you had 7 or more turns to stop it. Plus, it doesn't have any other keyword, so you can still interact with the things that buff it.

I have been very successful with my Progenitus deck, I don't see any problem with it. It can easily race with modern decks. There are many 4-5 mana spells that you can play him at least turn 6 of course without protection backup pretty risky. But I love it, it's really a threat and combat always drop 1 or 2 players out.

My man the things costs ten mana, is five-color and has no other keyword. If it gets onto the battlefield it's the rest of the table's fault, not its player, and it can still be stopped by most control strategies (aka the ones not fast enough to win before Progenitus comes in).
