@@dragonrider7796 I’ll say the same thing I said to someone else in the comments. I’m genuinely not rage baiting, if the other decks are piloted well they can easily win. Blue has a perfect counter to black by bottom decking and board spamming, reiju has an abundance of 4+ cost that can be spit out on turn 2 and can’t be removed for a whole turn without giving them an advantage ichiji is difficult to remove and easy to find consistently as well as being able to judge an entire board which ends up having more value then Moria. Zooro might be low cost but can flood the board every turn with the addition of solid 8+ drops. Lucci is a heavily bricked deck and struggles against aggro if played well

@@innerenigmas6016 I don’t deny any of your points, they are solid. However I find the lines of play stale, drawn out and redundant. Per the reason for banning Enies Lobby, “significantly impairs the enjoyment of fundamental aspects of the ONE PIECE Card Game: the back-and-forth of attack and defense and the strategic interactions involving multiple cards.” Specifically the part about the back and forth and also the fact you can’t interact with it like we can’t with stages. Do those two mentioned decks both struggle against BY Luffy or Gecko Moria(L)? Genuinely want to know, I’ve only started playing this game in the last month or so and mostly in Sim.

It won’t be, at most they’ll restrict it which will still kill luffy black/yellow🥲 without Moria that leader is useless. Sad to say and Bandai know this. Why they haven’t banned it.

@@AwakenedTCG i mean, i love purple, but i was really happy when R/P Law was banned even tho it was my deck of choice. Moria kind of pidgeonholds black decks/ black splash decks into moria decks. When a friend that was getting back into competitive OPTCG asked what were the best decks in the format he was answered "Pick a moria deck"

I‘m maining lucci since 2 weeks, played a local yesterday and went 4:0…my point is: black is so disgusting at the moment, I actually felt bad for my opponents (pudding, lucci, kata). In my last game i didnt even need gecko, jack and kaido carried me alone…hot take: you could literally ban/limit gecko and black would still be decent (i mean come on you still have great top end like jack, issho, 8c sabo, stussy)…people just got too used to the powercreep that 8c gecko provide that they actually think a limit/ban would kill it which it definetely wouldnt, trust me. Its ridiculously boring, before the first anniversary set it was red dominating until the set dropped, now the same with black its actually funny.

Everyone at my locals was playing RP Law, BY Luffy or Lucci up until the bans. Now it's just Lucci and BY Luffy, its boring as hell. People stopped coming in to tourneys with those structure decks still like 25+ days away. But let's not kid ourselves - it's gonna be a lot of Blue Doffy until OP09 drops in December.

i feel like the prevalence of black gives rb sabo more time to shine , at least on paper. saving from ko’s is huge. the deck can operate with a black/removal focus. so essentially st14 luffy with a different leader. the 4 life really kinda sucks tho

I think its an interesting meta, with new nice leaders: calagara, pudding and marco(that will get stronger with the starter deck). Im afraid that with the starter decks, doffy will kill up most of the leaders that strove until now.. reiju and potential by luffy... so I think except for op5 (sakazuku) & (op07 rp law) the meta is much healthier and diverse

WHEN ARE BONNEY PLAYERS GOING TO REALIZE YOU ACTUALLY HARD COUNTER LUCCI BY PLAYING 8cost Rosinante into 5cost green Luffy. Rosinante will protect Luffy, when they lower rosinante to 3cost for Jack, it’s protected by Luffy. Just don’t swing with Luffy until lethal. Throw in a 2cost rosinante and everything is safe from lucci

@@slate6472True, but, that's assuming you can find both pieces at an appropriate time. I've had too many matches where I find only one. I run Bonney and Baby 5 now, haven't tested it enough yet to see if it's consistent.

Been playing black/black-oriented decks since its inception in 02, and I was happy that black finally made it's way to dominate the meta, but I do hate the way it's done. Gecko being the gateway for every black deck has definitely made the color stale. I've been playing gecko-less Rebecca as an apology (annoying but less). Also, any chance you'll stop by 88CH one day? Lost miserably to you r3 last year at Santa Clara's regional and I've been itching to play you again ever since

The cap is crazy. Last format was the worst meta the game been through. Literally a deck that bottom decks a character, and they get to cheat out a card and Enels lobby+ Leader Lucci effect is dumb. This format is the most fun tt's been in a while with the deck spread in top cut.

The crying over black and gecko is getting old, Lucci is the best deck in format sure but people act like it’s indestructible. Doffy, Zooro, Enel,Perona, Pudding, soon to be Pluffy, Reiju are all incredibly good decks that can beat Lucci/BY/BLuffy without being a god at the game. All colors have a broken card stop complaining.

Doffy without starter is garbage, reiju is garbage, enel and yellow in genereal is garabge, and they definitley not beat lucci or by luffy. Black is dominitaing meta since op05 and continues to do so if they dont ban moria end of story.
