Beautiful Beautiful Beauuuutiful! I LOVE these exercises! Used to hate doing them, but now i think they are the key to everything lol. When I try to paint a bunch of rocks my brain seizes up and just derps out, and idk what im doing anymore. Come back to this exercise and it will translate to any more complex subject you try to paint. I will always go back to fundamentals. Thank you Coach!!

I just started the painting program at VCU, a move followed by my intuition, not painting experience! They like to put u in the deep end and let u figure things out on ur own accord… when I have no basis to start, your videos give me the confidence I need. I am applying your technique and sometimes having difficulty with the wet on wet, like I put down a color and it just immediately merges with what’s underneath it. I’m going to return to my still life now and maybe try using more paint. Thank you🎉🎉🎉

Hi! I’m new here as well to painting. I’m in an oil painting class and am very lost. I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing while everyone else feels great. So I’m turning to KZbin and am very happy I found you. Anyways, what is that liquid you keep dipping your brush into between mixing paints?
