I really enjoyed this video. I wish every audio company out there would ask you to review their products. This was done very, very well. Real world application. Just love it. Thank you for posting!

It's a really true sounding channel strip. I also want one "next to me".

I love spl, both for their build quality, beautiful analogue sound and aesthetics. I have an SPL crimson and it's built like a tank, I can't bring my self to let go of it even though I want to go rack mount.

Yes, the SPL gear built is pretty solid

I think the idea of having the writing on the back of the unit upside down so you can read it looking down at it is cool. Fun video brother!

You're right...They though of everything!

You would want the ‘track one mk3’ instead if you’re tracking/mixing vocals the most. ‘channel 1 mk3’ is definitely for the larger range when mixing unless you’re running through this unit while recording some drums etc.

how does it compare to the Avalon VT-737SP??

Is there anything from SPL like AIO mastering box... Like Fusion or MBT...? Would be amazing to hear this in stereo pair (although might be a bit expensive) 😅

Would love to compare that unit to my Avalon vt737sp 🤔

Never worked with the Avalon, but heard good things about it. It would be a good comparison

Thx, I've been looking forward to this review. I will definitly try to get my hands on one of this by the end of the year. I know I am a terrible singer, but thats what my vocals are worth to me 😁The only thing I might wonder is, if the tube saturation gives enough "drive" to distort/saturate metal-vocals/shouting properly, or else I do have to put a FET in front of it? Because this is something I absolutly wanna do analog by hardware not plugin!!!
@mixdownonline3 ай бұрын
You can drive it pretty hard...If you Drive it POST, you can adjust the Input level, and then the make up gain of the compressor to give more Drive

Great gear and all but that kind of stuff is just so wildly overpriced
@zeitakulobusta2 ай бұрын
You have any idea what r&d, manufacturing etc etc plus wages on this level of quality and detail costs?
@siriosstar478924 күн бұрын
@main,,, "wildly overpriced " ?😂 sorry man but you are clueless . It's made IN germany where labor costs are extremely high . the costs include partial payment of healthcare , worker safety laws and massive taxes . Considering the quality of materials and the amount of hand work involved , it's amazing they are able to sell their products at such a low price . You sound like you're from America where it's price first and workers and quality second . Also consider that They cater mostly to professional sound engineers/ recording g studios that can deduct some of the cost of their equipment as 'tools ' necessary for the job .

SPL is a no brainer company imo 😊 I never had any gear from them that I didn’t like. Their 120V rail technology is really nice. I couldn’t mix drums without their transient designer and I love the vitaliser on my mix-bus, it’s always on. 👌🏼😀

@@mixdownonline To be honest I’m not a big fan of channel strips but if I was a vocalist I would definitely get myself a nice channel strip, especially for performing live. Would be nice if you could do a review of a Drawmer channel strip if you ever have the opportunity 😊
