This model was built in 24hrs. Here’s how and you can do it too!

The idea of building a model car in 24hrs seems like it would go against everything we strive for when trying to build a nice model. What I’ve found is building with an extremely short timeframe can actually make you a better modeler!
It requires even more planning, focus and attention to detail to complete this challenge. It is not about rushing it, but discovering limitations and learning ways to work around them and still have something you are glad to put on your shelf or even share with others at a show.
Knowing you are doing this along with more than 200 other hobbyists around the globe at the same time makes this even more fun! Follow along as I share the process of building this model during the 18th annual 24hr Model Build.

Look's good for 24 hour build. Made sense for you to build this model. I liked your analyze at the end. Even if you're not satisfied with the results, you could learn something. Every model build is a change to learn something new. I would consider model a failure when I haven't learned something.

This is an absolutely outstanding achievement for such a quick build though honestly, was I expecting anything less?? The funny thing is that one of the earliest Amt kits I bought was the 36 ford (or ford 36?) that was silver and metallic red on the box. I think my dad thought I was still too young for it so convinced me to trade a monogram kit which I can't even remember which one that was. He then went onto build the ford for my eldest brother in the style of these early stock cars. He cut the fenders like this one and just like you at the time, I just didn't understand why he would do it or what it was trying to represent. I've been wanting to recreate it but I know that model will still exist so guess what, I started an Amt 40 ford ford 40 a few years ago.. definitely not a 24hr build as it's still in primer unfinished. Just found it funny how your first impression was the same as mine. Anyways great video and build as usual, I have been watching your others too and just don't get to comment quick enough but appreciate each and every one of them! Thanks again mate!

That is interesting we had the same reaction. I remember he filled the headlights with wall spackle. It never really dried so it was squishy under the paint. Thought that was pretty neat! Thanks for watching and good luck with your builds!
