Suddenly I'm 6 years old and sick at home on a school day. What a blast from the past

Me 2 😂😂😂 the amount of daytime TV I used to consume when I was "sick" 😂

@@moonanaii I remember always being really excited when sick for that very reason. Back then, daytime TV was actually pretty good!

This is giving me flashbacks of when I use to stay at home poorly, curled up on the settee with my duvet watching this with my mum 😊

Same here! I used to watch this cuddled up to my mum whenever I was home sick 😊

@@babychickenstudios this version of the this morning theme i do remember because the programme was made in my hometown Liverpool until 1996. I remember seeing Fred's floating weather map and the old Granada studios where Granada Tonight was filmed (sometimes i still call It that because I'm a 90s kid)

Better than the new intro tune this tune was the best with the saxophones

I'm not sure when, but they changed the rules on how sponsorship messages could interacted with programmes. It became no longer allowed to blend the music or visuals of the show with that of the sponsor. There had to be a distinct seperation. It's still the case now, but there have been some examples of where it's been flaunted. The new Krypton Factor (Sage) and Big Brother 2006 (Carphone Warehouse) are a couple which spring to mind.

@Manors22 The rules were tightened up because of the brash way that shows were starting to take on the identity of the sponsor. Carol Vorderman's Better Homes was basicly a half hour Homebase advert, and Lucky Numbers was like a televised Sun Bingo, to name but a couple. The rules were tightened up so that the viewer was always certain of where the advertising was being attached. But The Krypton Factor is blatent rule break. I don't know how that one has slipped through the net.

This was in the era when This Morning used to be good. Now it's a pair of grinning fakes talking about The X Factor and last night's soaps.

Ok in the Richard and Judy years, but now lowbrow tat full of rigged competitions and soap gossip.
