I think that the lack of time to process emotions is very real and planned by the writers. Riley needed to let it out and reign it back in before she got embarrassed by crying in public. the theme is abt how we shouldn't bottle up our emotions. And as someone who was a teen girl not that long ago its so relatable how there are times where you're not allowed to feel sad when you're busy (even now too tbh)

Everyone older than you relate to Ennuie (which not french for boring btw, it has a more nuanced meaning which is like melancholic or indifference or annoyance) the same way as we get older we love Squidward from SpongeBob. To call an emotion about not caring annoying means 2 things. 1. You care too much and that emotion brings that out of you. 2. They did an amazing job of portraying it because of point 1. So i wouldn’t criticize that at all because they did exactly what they set out to. If they made ennuie even a little more caring like when she lost her phone (that was out of character of this emotion) it wouldn’t evoke such a strong response from anyone who 1. Cares too much or 2. Doesn’t care at all. Everyone who cares too much and relates too anxiety find someone who doesn’t care as infuriating because “HOW COULD THEY!?” But a level of maturity is necessary for someone to be comfortable with not caring about stuff. Even big stuff that would otherwise cause anxiety. Nihilism and Stoicism touch on this importance!

Im finally glad that animations nowadays can actually portray many human emotions perfectly, not only that but actually taking mental health seriously. And you know what, its definitely a good thing for our generation and the ones to come, this movie although was a bit more "sad" in comparison to the average pixar movie i still absolutely loved it. Its just a perfectly great movie and a sequel

This movie broke me too, not in tears, but broke my hopes of ever getting a job as a hand drawn animator in an industry reliant on 3D animation and 2D rigged animation, not because there aren’t many jobs for hand drawn animators anymore, but because the destruction of the animation studio in the movie showed me how much people these days don’t respect hand drawn animation as an art form.

Small detail but in defense of Anxiety’s design, there was actually a post from Pixar (?) where it’s zoomed on her clothes. Especially on her neck ; and it showed how itchy the fabric really was (kinda related to anxiety and stress in general, also unable to breathe)
