I'd open up MPC beats in Reason and just use one or two elements from the Akai packs and the rest from Reason because I dont want to use all the sounds picked for Me. Id also not listen to the demo tracks because that would influence what I make.

I saw the official blurb says it’s the first expansion to utilise “Flavor pro” and they did a master chain on each preset, which sounds interesting. But I havn’t seen a single review show or even mention this.

It’s a little disappointing tbh. There’s definitely a big share of the stuff on MPC/SP404 that is just boom bap to lofi hip hop but the machines themselves can do so much more. Currently trying to use the MPC One to make some minimal techno or tech house and it’s amazing for it. They are absolutely perfect for most styles of hip hop though. Can get the basic backbones of a track ready in about 15 mins cause they’re so tactile. It would be interesting to see yourself attempt a completely different genre of music and see what you end up with.

Akai kinda does that alot and is a problem because sometimes I cant actually remember what beats are My own or the demo track. I played a tune I thought was made by Akai but it was My own lol.

i just use the drum one shot and perc, rarely some fx and absolutly never instruments. so it is perfect if you just need drums. sound selection in drum programing is an art in itself and you can absolty f*** uo a song if you make bad choices.

Well there are some cool things you can do with metal on the mpc. You could NIN or Straight up different time signatures.
