It's incredible to see you getting the opportunity to jam out on a dirt bike on your childhood home trails! I'm 51 and have been restoring my childhood bike for a couple of years (the epic 1981 Yamaha YZ-50) I'm sure it's not gonna pull my arms off this time around but, it's all about the nostalgia, ffs! I've got my modded FZ-09 if I wanna go fast. I'm doing this because there's nothing like the item that brings you back to the free feeling of your first trail rides. Bead breaking tip: after air is drained, put the valve core back in the stem. proceed to break bead with a stomper blade. Last bit of tire to roll over rim tip: when you get to this point, you want to push down on the 180 side of the tire so that the bead is able to go into the deep part of the rim, thus, giving you the slack you need to roll that tire over.

This absolutely cements what I've been feeling and that is how much we are greedily being gouged by these distributors and dealers. The fact that they can sell it for half price and still make a bit of money. Even if they made nothing that means they are making 100%profit off of these things!! They always try to claim that their profit levels are so nominal that they can barely budge on the price. These overly inflated prices are what keep 90% of people away. If they made only 50% they would probably make more from all of the additional sales.

Still, it’s touted as 50% off. Sure if I drive to NJ I could possibly get the deal you got. I went there and looked at this bike probably a year ago and they were $11k. It's nice hearing someone who appreciates all motorized fun things. I know so many people who just hate anything electric. All they want is to talk about their downsides, as if it's absolutely definitive of them. They hate when I point out their advantages. I don't have $5000 to go out and spend on an electric motorcycle (much less $15,000!), but I have a few fun (but much less expensive) electric rides. I occasionally ride one of them up to the local beach.

Make some rim protectors out of some plastic from a 2 liter soda bottle. You can cut that with scissors or knifes and it's very strong, thin, it heat shrinks even and that's useful for many things. But for tires, cut out the shape you need and use it to keep the tool from scratching the paint from the rim.. that plastic is tough and can hold up to abuse well. I use it for all kinds of stuff. I've even made an expansion pipe for an 80cc 2 stroke bike with two 2 liters with the bottoms cut off and an empty tin can with the top and bottom removed by my can opener used as a sleeve in between the inside of the bottoms of the bottles. Heat shrinks the bottles to that metal sleeve and heat shrink shape the ends clamp to a pipe from the engine add a metal tip and black paint it you want and ride it. It sounds better and had more power that the stock muffler. It ain't pretty and a trashy thing to do but I was curious if it would work and it did so my point is, v that plastic is bad ass and useful for tons of things instead of tossing it out. You could have used it to not get Nick's in the paint on your rims... The thin thickness is better than those thick blue things that get in your way mostly.

Hey man the most important thing for the battery is NEVER EVER leave it sit charged. Always charge the bike before you use it. Also it's useful to time it so that you don't fully charged the bike. Lastly I'm not sure what the cooling system on this bike is but if the battery is not liquid cooled then don't let it get hot and don't let it charge while it's hot. Don't charge outside in the sun either. Been riding electric bikes for 15 years. All air cooled batteries. But have been driving liquid and air cooled battery cars since 2015.
