First up the 28.3k Haitian casualties plus the 7.4k Dominican is 35.7k, and we are gonna round that up to 37k cause the war wasn’t over yet and that’s about my guess. Now the Dominican population in 1935 (the closest year that we have a number for) was about 1.5mil The Haitian population in 1950 (again the closest year we have) was 3.2 mil Combine those and we get 4.7mil as the population for the entire island. As usual only half of that is male getting 2.35mil which imma round to 2.3mil (rounded down because of Haiti’s inflated pop) 37k is 1.6% of 2.3mil ya welcome.
