As a photographer, I've gotten some AMAZING photographs of climbing, musical performances and nature; but the scenes and events which I remember LEAST are the ones which I was being PAID to photograph. Kudos to Cory for now prioritizing BEING THERE! 🙏

This dude rules, looking forward to the full interview. Tolstoy has a whole book about this feeling called "What is Art?". His basic idea is that aesthetics are meaningless, and art only has value insofar as it serves a purpose in developing humanity through emotional connection. Maybe not exactly the same as what is being expressed here, but as an artist you hit a place where you realize you're trying to recreate or capture something that can only be experienced, and by doing so are cheapening it. A hard issue to deal with - you've got to get back to a place where you believe you're doing something important rather than just entertaining yourself or others.
