This Nearly Ended The Music City Open

The disc golf world has some very disheartening things happen at the second round of FPO of Music City Open which nearly ended the Disc Golf Pro Tour In Nashville. This controversy feels very sad and I hope it is an anomaly and not a trend.

The problem that has people stirred up is that the PDGA changed the rules last year and Natalie used free attorneys to sue the PDGA in multiple states forcing them to change the rule back. Threats of violence are wrong and I don’t wish that on Natalie, but I needed to expand the context because it seems that you missed that point.

Natalie Ryan can also play in the MPO according to the rules. The mpo is the "mixed" pro open. They can still play the sport they love and would be honored by all instead of vilified by all.

A few things to note, We don't know what was exactly said?? Or the context. Also, its not about Nat. I think Brodie asked a great question to the owner of Neptune. "what happens when someone MUCH better than Nat... lets say on par with a top 20 MPO player decides they are a female???? Well, say bye bye to any female winning in FPO." It's not hate my friend. It's giving the ladies a fair division to compete. We all know the truth, we see it in every sport that has this happen. Cognitive Dissonance has a grip so tight on some people that they push down what they know as fair and correct. People are free to live as they wish as long as it doesn't come at the cost of others.

The question needs to be asked to Ryan, why does the FPO exist? Why are the Olympics divided by gender? Not race, age, or size but only by gender? Well, we all know that it's bc men have athletic advantages over women. Like you said, Ryan can be whatever they want, but it's absurd and quite frankly just mean to force everyone else to accept that they are what they THINK they are.

Playing within the confines of the rules because the PDGA put the financial burden on the fpo ladies. Everyone has a moral compass and has the ability to make decisions with integrity. Every human who competes in sports knows early on the physical advantages of biological males and social media has blinded many of you all to ignore this and have sympathy for the ones taking these ladies’ career earnings. A death threat isn’t the answer but it is important to ignite the fire when no one is taking these things seriously. Some of these ladies depend on cashing to keep the dream alive for another week so emotions are high when one person side steps all the grinding and years of hard work and tells you I’m here to take your prize money and you just have to accept it. We don’t know what was said and we can make better judgement once we get context. Right now it’s just believe the person who feels it’s ok to take money deserving to these ladies. I can see why people are initially suspicious.

Natalie Ryan playing with biological women is not ok. Natalie pressing an agenda that says men and women are the same and you can be whatever gender you want to be regardless of how you were born is not ok. PDGA allowing biological men to play FPO is not ok - ever. That said, threatening violence against Natalie is absolutely NOT ok.

I think it's really difficult for anyone to separate their disagreement with the pro tour's current policy and their disapproval of Natalie because they go hand in hand. The policy had already been changed to keep competition fair. It is solely because of Natalie's litigation that the policy decision was reversed since that threatened the very existence of the pro tour. These are directly connected. If not for Natalie, there would indeed not be any transgender players in FPO right now, so it makes sense that people are hating on Natalie and no one else. Is it unfortunate that one person is receiving so much hate? Yes... but they brought it on themselves. Viewers hate players for all sorts of silly reasons (I root against Ricky personally) but there are very valid reasons for people hating Natalie. Death threats? Obviously that's taking things too far. But asking people to not hate on Natalie is a big ask. But I think what you're really asking is "If you have nothing nice to say..." because people slinging epithets certainly won't make this situation better.
