It’s even crazier given how Raiden’s C1 wants you to slot other electro characters with her - and a third of them don’t work at all (Well, 2/7 - Beidou and Electro MC). 2 are suboptimal in general (Lisa Keqing), 1 is massively powercrept (Razor) And 1 already fills the same niche as Raiden (Fischl).

It's also very important to mention (and I believe Zajef is really pushing this) that Mihoyo advertising Raiden with the description that her attacks count as hits (according to her C6), meaning she'd work with Beidou, and then intentionally making it so that it doesn't is false advertisement. Yes they changed the description of the C6 (and gave us 100 primos), but that was after people had spent real money to get Raiden on the first day, which means players correctly assumed she would work with Beidou, and when it did not work, Mihoyo changed the text, a classic example of a bait and switch. Whether the original description was intentionally false or if it was a mistake is irrelevent; the fact remains that people spent money for a product that did not do as it was advertised, and that is a great reason to advocate for a fix.

A change in Electro resonance would be good as well. Since they did buff Geo along with buffing Zhongli. A revamped electro resonance that add more dmg to electro affected unit + the chance to generate an Electro Elemental Particle would be nice and I don't think it's game breaking. I think Baal specifically doesn't need the electro buff but her electro comrades really do; however, in order for her to reach archon status, she should be viable in many team comps, as a C0 owner its tough for me to argue for her on many teams and I feel she wont be a staple character like venti (not like zhongli though cuz he too OP). You may disagree that she should be a staple but we need her to represent the uniqueness of her element.

Kinda funny how Raiden's banner's sale has been the most successful one in genshin history (partially thx to genesis crystal resets). If you check spiral abyss statistics, average constellation on clear using Raiden is actually more than c1, and Kujou's average constellation has been higher than Bennett's. Edit: Most people don't really unlock C6 on Bennett for obvious reasons hence why he's lower. That being said, the statement about Raiden having higher avg. constellation compared to other limited 5 stars says something. "If you want power, pay upfront to show your devotion to the almighty shogun" - MHY probably.

Her skill guarantees an electro particle every other hit to though. So she is generating energy even while of field. Not saying it compensates for her problems but she is the best battery in the game overall. The biggest drawback is she becomes bad as soon as a shielded enemy shows up.

Another reason that they should change it is also simply that it's finally a very strong option for fans of Electro. Agree with no buff needed, her damage seems to be good from what I've seen others do even on C0, considering she's designed to be support dps mainly (though it sucks that a LOT of damage is behind constellations). Another VERY good reason for fixing the interaction is that it avoids the problem of future units not working with Raiden Shogun, since it's it's very possible future units may have bursts or skills that activate on attacks like Beidou's burst.

I think so I mean look at Yoimiya her ICD and interactions were overlooked and she got bashed on hard by the community. Yoimiya didn't need a damage buff she needed some technical fixes she can proc reactions 5-6 times during her skill and you better not get hit or dodge because that last auto hits the hardest, since then my trust in mihoyo has been shaken and raiden is another example of overlooked abilities not working and a 100 primos for cucking a good team up

Yet, they still should work - even when not getting "basic attack" buffs. It just makes no sense either - Noelle also gets an "override" of her attacks. Xiao and Diluc get the buff but it'd be so much better for them to be able to get ulti burst damage bonus...

If players had the idea to utilize Beidou with Raiden it should work, just because it makes a lot of sense to. Also the description is way too obscure. The only thing we can know from Raiden's description is that her damage is considered burst dmg not that it isn't considered a normal hit anymore. Beidou's procs have nothing to do with dealing dmg, all you need to do is hit a target which is why it procs on shields unlike Albedo and Raiden E. So we only knew before their explanation (which was hours after the banner released) that only the DMG part of Raiden's Q is changed and Beidou's Q has nothing to do with dealing DMG or not, so it made sense for them to work together.

Attacks have 2 different values, motion values and hit values. Certain bursts like xingqui proc based off motion value while beidou’s burst procs off hit values. Raidens burst counts as normal attacks for the motion value but counts as a burst for the hit value. This is why it doesn’t work with beidou. This is a limitation to the game, the only way to “fix this” would be to change how beidous burst works. People keep calling this a nerf but that is false, the reason Baal doesn’t work with beidou is because on beta her burst originally didn’t count as burst damage thus it didn’t work with the severed fate set. After people complained about this she was buffed, and had her burst converted to burst damage so it would scale with the set.

Querying a hit for an attack type is resulting in a reference to the potential damage's attack type damage type, rather than to the causal attack's attack type. This wouldn't be hard to fix once it is understood. If in the code hits can't hold information, there's a work around as DMG does and they are at least partly set by the causal attack. So the attack object's attack type property can be passed to the damage object as atkAtkType for when something needs to know a hit's attack's attack type. Then have Beidou's burst look at the potential damage's atkAtkType rather than atkTypeDmgType or whatever it's called.

I really didn't know about her synergy with Beidou, as I pulled for Raiden Shogun to act as my main dps and replace Beidou from my team. My main issue is the electro resonance, I had upgraded my Beidou and a recently pulled Keqing, and using Keqing as a sub dps with raiden shogun would be amazing as a damage perspective, but the resonance makes it feel I'm wasting Keqing or Raiden Shogun

She has more than just one issue. 1. Her Elemental skill doesn't trigger on shields. So she's pretty much useless against abyss mages and abyss heralds. 2. She keeps taking damages from electro in her surroundings...and she's keep generating electro so she constantly get hurt by her own attacks. 3. Electro as a whole need a buff and it should fix her damage output.

This is easy. There is no excuse for any character in this game to be completely useless when paired with another character of the same element. This isn't like using the wrong combos. However, from my understanding the reason it worked in beta was because initially her AA during her burst was not considered burst damage. This of course meant her burst rotation was much weaker. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a case where they overlooked this scenario when they made the change and when it came up post launch decided to double down instead of putting in the work to make the adjustments. My hope is the complaints get them to go back and adjust it even if it doesn't come until the next patch or something.

If you play in Japanese, Miyuki Sawashiro even voices the two characters differently. She uses a softer, more feminine and friendly voice as Ei (Beelzebul, the now ex-Electro Archon) and a more stern, aggressive voice as the Raiden Shogun (the ruler of Inazuma). The one we got is the latter, not the former. We do not have the Archon.

This is really frustrating to find out. I got Baal along with her banner weapon specifically to replace Fischl in my Beidou team. I've been a Beidou main since launch and Beidou's high cost ult as well as being Electro seemed like the perfect pairing. Will definitely be complaining about this in the next survey. Edit: After doing Abyss with Baal she does still work pretty well with Beidou, 35/36 stars with no retries and an underleveled Baal. Beidou''s ult builds up resolve pretty quickly and you just need to be mindful of the fact they don't stack and you more or less just get separate two big bursts of damage you can alternate between.

It's incredibly stupid when you look at Raiden's toolkit, and then you look at characters like Beidou or Electro MC. They're practically made for each other. Raiden's C1 gains 80% more Resolve stacks from Electro characters' bursts, and she wants characters with 80 cost bursts because of the resolve stacks and to help them with their own energy issues. The only Electro characters with deployable 80 energy bursts are Electro MC, Beidou, Lisa, and Kujou Sara, yet Raiden Shogun's Q won't work with 2 out of 4 of them! It's ridiculous!

See but thats one of the strongest arguments we have to defend our point. The wording on raiden's E is when a character DEALS damage it procs (same as albedo), and that's why it doesn't trigger on shields (annoying but we get it) while beidou's ult triggers on HIT, you can check that beidou will trigger discharges in abyys shields and that. What they've supposedly made with raiden is that the damage is coded as burst damage, but the movement is coded as a normal attack, hence why it triggers xq swords the only thing that changed was the damage bonus multiplier but beidou doesn't work with damage ( like Raiden's and Albedos's E) it works with hits. I hope i made it kinda clear, it's really technical and bullshit but honestly mihoyo was the one who decided to give this bullshit explanations and its annoying.

I know you don't want buffs for her. But honestly owning her C3 I feel that the C2 of ignoring defense should have been part of her burst from the getgo. Her base power at c0 is too low in my opinion and people have that notion that she should be a sole battery. I think that's wrong. Her design is made around energy recharge yes. But not just as a team battery but to also draw her own power out of it. It is a great theme they thought for electro. But they only delivered on the recharge part but not so much on the damage one. 5 stars like Ayaka or Kazuha didn't feel lackluster at all. And their constellations are truly a nice to have. Sure they will increase their damage a lot. But even at C0 they do competent damage. If players would know how much of a difference is between c0 and c2 they would ask to raise her baseline power.

As a C2 Raiden haver I must agree. Her unbuffed damage seems like the damage I would have been satisfied with had she been C0. I'm still holding out for getting an R5 catch instead of prototype starglitter and getting lv 10 elemental burst talent for the damage to be consistently satisfying. Her damage is really good with C6 Sara buff, but Sara really doesn't fit into any abyss team and her E is wonky. That being said, I'd really just be happy if the beidou interaction worked.

@@rever98 c6 Sara buff is a great enabler. Sara is interesting. Her E is less wonky at C2 where she places a crow feather in place. That's most times all you need for the buff. And there is a bug with her teleport that more often than not doesn't work. You stay in place instead of teleporting backwards. So you stay on top of the feather. And this is perfect. In such cases you can buff your team members insanely fast very conveniently. And that 60% crit damage increase is no joke! With Kazuha, Benett and Sara her damage goes up to 330k for the initial burst part.

Thanks zy0x for addressing this. Although we know this whole issues is about raiden/beidou interaction, I just want everyone to not overlook the bigger issue here. Mihoyo changed the description of Raiden's C6 an hour after release. Before that it have the same description as Beidou so, a lot of player assumes that it should work just like what is said in this video. The official statement by mihoyo, explaining the damage hit/damage type doesn't specifically address Beidou which is the core of the complaint. They could just easily put in one sentence about Beidou and it'll be more clear to the consumer, but they choose not to. This is imho not very ethical of mihoyo, some might even claim as fraud/false advertisement. As a consumer we should really try to push them for the fix, It's a gacha game and people spent money for this game, we get that as a corporation they need the highest profit possible, but some things should not be overlook because it sets the precedent of our future experience in this game.

Having some elements be weaker as a baseline and compensating by making characters stronger isn't good game design IMO. This just means that characters of that element don't want to interact much with the element system, and in the case of electro, you sometimes want to actively avoid using them in order to not mess up your reactions. If they keep doing this and don't fix the element it will be harder and harder to fix, as you would need to tweak more characters around the changes in order to not make anyone totally busted/powercreeped. Also, I would be quite disappointed if Raiden saw buffs before electro, because I have seen too many times in other games that characters get buffed and then systems around them get buffed for a double whammy of powercreep. She should be a very powerful character if electro just becomes a better element.

I think they could do a pretty decent job by adding more things that can shred electro resist combined with high ability scaling In retrospect, with how the wheel works. Electro is the battery, Anemo is the support and the other 2 characters proc reactions. With Raiden, they have a real opportunity to make 3x Electro teams viable and instead of reactions, the strength comes from smart ability usage to shred resist, then chaining bursts for massive damage

Electro never needs buff. The only reason people want electro buff is because they want to use keqing, but the thing is buffing electro will still make keqing underwhelming. And if they do buff electro, beidou and raiden need to get nerfed because they both deal a fuckton of damage with just pure raw damage without reactions, even competing and in certain scenarios beating vape/melt damage. Zyox said it himself in this very video, beidou can do comparable damage to vape/melt and even exceeding it in multi target scenarios because of her stupid high scaling, not because of electro reactions

she's "balanced" is another way of saying she's meh. She's an archon; she shouldn't be just "okay". Adding a Venti/Kazuha level character doesn't powercreep anything. But she's not at that level; she's much lower. So screw people like me who don't have Kazuha or Venti and decided to pull for Baal because surely she weould be similar in power level. She's optimal in only TWO team compositions, whereas you could fit Kazuha or Venti or Zhongli in just about anything. She's also NOT an archon, I don't care if this is a spoiler for you or not, but she's not. Even if she WAS an archon, she has no Gnosis so she has no archon powers. There's no lore reason for her to be broken. There's no lore reason for Venti or Zhongli to be broken either, it's just something people latch onto because they want these characters to win the game for them instead of having to actually try. I for one am very happy that they aren't relasing Zhongli or Ganyu powered characters every time. It's good for the game's health.

For a random 5* character, yah sure health of the game and such, whatever *cough* Qiqi *cough* Yoimiya *cough* but Raiden is hyped AF and literally sliced an island in half to one shot the shaved Quetzalcoatl. MHY couldn't have picked a worse character to make their game go on a diet in. They literally released Ganyu and Hu Tao and then Eula and buffed Zhongli to make all contents trivial. When the OP Venti was nerfed because the new enemies are too heavy, they reduced that weight too. But oh no, Raiden is where the line is drawn? I think it's BS and perhaps even a ploy to buff then re-release her for more money.

A lot of people have been saying that the reason they don't work together is because "Raiden's burst counts as burst damage and Beidou's burst only works when you do normal attacks." Raiden's burst mode still receives normal attack buffs such as attack speed, etc... You also need to consider the fact that Beidou's burst still triggers on shielded enemies, which means the actual damage type inflicted does not matter since shielded enemies don't take any damage. Inb4 you say that "shielded enemies do take damage, it just doesn't hurt their HP" both Raiden and Albedo's elemental skills won't proc on shielded enemies, they only proc when damage is inflicted. Mihoyo deliberately made their bursts not synergize.

Passed through Abyss 12 yesterday with National Raiden on the first half and it was really fun, easy and fast. I think Ei is fine, just fix few interactions like Beidou and Electro MC and go. But! I still think that Electro resonanse and superconduct sucks. Also I think that it is Electro should be the most efficient element to remove hydro shields. That should be changed! (Look: Hydro -> Pyro -> Cryo -> Electro AND Hydro (wtf!? why Cryo should be better than Hydro here!?))

There could be a possibility that dendro may be the efficient one to remove hydro (which I hope is the case), note that cryo is considered "efficient" to remove hydro is because enemies get frozen, in terms of shield shredding it is defintely way less if you compare hydro -> pyro or pyro-> cryo. Personally I think resonance wise should have cd reduction besides the particle gen, cd being an anemo resonance bonus is weird (we don't have any anemo char that demonstrates that either currently off the top of my head)

Hydro shield is a bit complicated. The shield on hydro abyss mage is weak to cryo but the one that on hydro fatui is weaker with electro rather than cryo

I think it's kinda wack though that her burst only restores about 20-25 flat energy (which cannot be buffed by your energy recharge!) you'd think it would be higher if she's supposed to be a super archon battery. Oh yeah, I'm also using Raiden with the Skyward Spine for that energy recharge and like Beidou's burst and electro traveler's burst, it does not work with Raiden's burst which is kinda disappointing. I also thought I'd be swapping my Fischl with Raiden but I found she has some issues that Fischl doesn't have, like not being able to hit elemental shields with her skill (same with Albedo)

@@vzreo let's assume it is just 30 flat energy, eula for example has an 80 energy cost burst, that's another 50 energy that you need to generate by having another battery like diona, it's raiden's job to be THE battery but her energy regen is so low and inconsistent at times you gotta bring another battery. so i have no idea why you think 30 flat energy is a lot, unless you're planning to run her in a team full of 40 energy cost characters which is not optimal btw to build raiden's resolve stacks. right now, she's good and balanced ,i dont think she needs a buff either

@@luminous3558 They can get creative, for example Superconduct shreads physical resist but they could also make it shread electro resist (and possibly cryo resist too) as well. Or make electro work like it does with hydro where 2 elements coexist at the same time and a third element can proc 2 reactions at the same time (that's what this new international comp is btw, you apply Hydro with Xingqiu then Electro with Baal and Xiangling procs Overload and Vape at the same time) but with every element (not sure how good that would be). These are just some random ideas of mine, I bet there's way better ideas out there, they already did the Geo buff justice so I can only hope they will do something similiarly successful. Also if the buffed Electro reactions turn out to be really good then we might see Keqing as a sub-DPS because of her crazy good Electro application just like Childe is the enabler for the Xianling Vape comp which would be an interesting path to take her but I would be happy either way

It doesn't take much IQ to realize they're not on the same tier.

TOOK BY SOMEONE ELSE: Sara is Mihoyo's way to boost sales for the current Raiden banner. Basically it follows a logic loop: pull for Raiden-->pull for c2 Sara to work better with Raiden-->get any constellation for Raiden-->might as well get c6 Sara and c2 Raiden-->got c2 Raiden and no c6 Sara? Keep pulling and maybe get c3 Raiden. Statistics shows this loop is working insanely well, especially seeing how many people get constellations for Raiden. Also this explains why Mihoyo doesn't want Beidou to work with Raiden because it breaks this loop since Sara becomes unnecessary. So guys, dont expect Beidou to be fixed, at least as the banner is up. Also people that revealed in the GI official discord that RS dont work with Beidou, they're immediately deleted.
