I'm actually kind of glad Kinemon didn't die, even if he should have. That chapter of him thinking back about him and Momo and all they went through was pretty touching. Plus Kin actually really grew on me in Wano.

I can totally see Momo and Hiyori both ruling over Wano. She knows exactly what happened over 20 years inside of Wano, and Momo had some... weeks? months? outside, but he, Kinemon and Raizo have gained much outside knowledge in terms of how the world is currently structured + he has additional knowledge through Oden's journal. The two of them together could transform Wano into something greater than they'd ever thought it would be.

Here’s my theory, obviously Yamato is obviously going to join them, however like you said, Luffy wants Yamato not oden so during his new time on board he’s gonna go through something of an identity crisis. A personal character arc similar to the movie Rango he’ll ask himself “Who am I?” “Who is Yamato?” Since being oden is out of the question now. Sometime he’s going to go through several odd personalities that seem fitting for the environment that he is in, and he would still not pick up to what luffy said that he wanted Yamato not oden. And eventually (whether it be the elbaf arc or the final saga) he finally lets go of oden both mentally and physically and rushes into battle (probably gonking someone on the head) and yell out “I am Yamato! Son of Kaido! Value member of the straw hat pirates! And you will look at me IN FEAR!” At least that’s my interpretation I’d love to hear your opinion

Yamato's identity crisis may go deeper than that. Yamato stated becomeing a man because of a desire to become Kozuki Oden. Maybe it's my headcannon but I kinda picture Kaido deliberately misinterpreting this as "Oh you want to be a man, hic? You can be a man just not *that* one! I don give a shit if you'rsh an okama! Hey listhen up e'vrybody! This is my Son Yamato!" And Yamato just went with it because becoming a man was just one step closer to becoming Oden.

Good video, I agree Yamato joining shouldn't be as easy as he makes it seem, but we'll see. I think Oda wanted Kinemon to live so there would be an explanation for Momo suddenly having elaborate robes that fit his adult body perfectly. I love the familial bonds you brought up, and I find it so sweet that Oden's first ever followers, Kinemon and Denjiro, would each end up being a father figure to one of his children after his death. I do not like the idea of reversing Momo‘s age. Momo sacrificed his Lifespan to help defeat Kaido, nullifying his sacrifice would be like Kiku regrowing her arm.

About the points against Yamato Joining: 1. "Too easy" Most of the times the hurdle Luffy needs to go through is convincing them to abandon their old life (normally solving their problems for them). And Kaido already did a gosh damn good job in convincing her of leaving her old life behind. 2. Jinbei's comment Jinbei is a rules guy, he's always the one pointing out that there's a order to things. Saying that his comment foreshadows Luffy refusing, is the same as thinking that Brook's, Sanji's and Robin's are confirmation that she'll join. (By the way, no one talks that Frank's reaction is also one of rejection) 3. "Luffy wants Yamato, not Oden" When did Luffy became someone to refuse people for what they call themselves? Only moments Luffy refuse others way of thinking, is when he sees that they're hurting themselves (Nami, Vivi, Momo, Sanji). And Luffy didn't had enough time to say this about Yamato (he's rather accepting of this "quirk" from her). (Prediction: Someone in the Marines will hear that she calls herself Oden, and they'll pull Oden's bounty back for her) 4. "She needs to bond with the crew" Funny that every one that bring Jinbei's comment also brings this up. Luffy's opinion is all that matters for a new recruit! He don't need to consult the rest of the crew to ask people to join. The relationship with the rest of the crew comes later. Let alone Robin, Chopper didn't know half of the crew when he joined. If there's something to prevent Yamato from Joining, it must come from her side. The Strawhats have no reason to refuse her! Extra: We do need a painel of her drinking with Luffy and Ace's ghost before they leave Wano!

The two points you brought up are the two hang ups I have about this arc - Rama’s devil fruit is terrifying, are the smile fruit users trapped in their minds being controlled, are their thoughts/wills completely altered? No matter how you skin it that’s a horrifying ability & should raise a ton more flags in world and in the community than it has. And… Momo needs to not be shogun for… at least 5 more years. His sister should be, if not the shogun, then a ruler in some capacity in momo’s place. She’s lived with the country for the last 10 years and is the only of the two siblings that can actually empathize with the citizens of wano on a deeper level, which imo is something that they need right now. Momo cares, but there’s no way that his limited understanding to the last 20 years can match up

My thoughts & opinions of the chapter: 1. If Yamato does join the crew, then I wonder if there will be any resemblance to how either Kaidou or Oden respectively joined their crew? After all, they were both servants of 2 D carriers, so I wouldn't mind if Yamato fellows in both there footsteps whether she knows it or not. 2. As I saw Tama's flashback, I do wonder if we will see more of it in the future chapters, followed by another fact about her? Who knows, maybe the Kurozumi Tama theory could still come true one way or another. 3. Although Momo's adult appearance may not be exactly like that of Oden, I wonder if Franky will his encounter with him on Water 7?

Subliminally asking Nami to adopt her? Randy Troy is all in on that theory. I still contend that she will need to stay behind and resolve the issue with her charmed army. That noted I wouldn't be mad if this happened cos Tama is adorable. She's plucky as all get out.

still confused by this entire conversation. comparing luffy to jinbe at all... maybe i'll be proven wrong, but luffy saying "Wow, an 8'8 oni. Huge horns. Has a giant kanabo. Turns into a mythical wolf" did i like, forget some character development or would luffy not just go "THAT IS SO COOL, JOIN US" like he did to Brooke, and, most of his crew. (Just clarifying yes, I'd imagine a slow flowing involvement and then corporation into the crew, but we never rly get Luffy indicating he'd ever say no. idk.)

It's not patriarchal lol. That's how it works. When there is a family who rules their sons take over. It's tradition. Especially tradition in old Japan. It would have been way weird for them it be like naw you suck momo were breaking tradition and letting your sis take over. She will have a very important role in wano. That's literally what the term 'patriarchal' means though, it's the dictionary definition for a male-led system, feminism aside (if it were female-led it would be matriarchical). Idk I just think having a woman lead temporarily in these circumstances, given One Piece is a work of fiction where much stranger things have happened would have been an interesting choice, but that's just my opinion 🤷‍♀️

Strawhat crew must become a strong crew after Wano as Luffy will be one of Yonko (not sure if it'll be still Yonko). For this reason Yamato being on the crew seems more likely in my opinion, as we are yet to see power ups of other shrawhats such as Ushop, Brook, Franky
