this last chapter didnt feel like a victory to me. Like, you could see everyone celebrate, the defeat textbox, everything we want to see from a victory chapter... except I can't help to feel massive unease and tension. Zunesha and the Navy are still there, All of the strongest fighters are out of commission on all sides. Anything could happen right now... to quote every Star Wars movie: i have a bad feeling about this.

Not to mention Rob Lucci is leading the fleet. Also, it’s specifically a World Government fleet. The Navy’s forces are all spent on the Warlords, otherwise they’d send Kizaru and that would be that.

My thoughts & opinions of the chapter: 1. When Luffy's Gear 5th wore off the 1st time, he looked old & wrinkly. But this time, Luffy is looks just fine despite being asleep? With that I wonder if the side effects of using Gear 5th was just a one time thing, or Luffy subconsciously overcame the flaws of his new found powers? Perhaps the spirt of Nika might also be involved in this? 2. What Momo said to Zunesha may relate to the discussion that he & Yamato had where he questioned if keeping the borders closed a little longer is really the right choice. However, I do wonder if this means that the Government will successfully take Wano for themselves unless someone or something scares them from doing it? 3. It is no surprise that by the time the news on Kaido's defeat is shared throughout the world, Luffy will not only receive a major bounty increase, but also become one of, if not the most dangerous person(s) to ever oppose the current status quo since Rocks, Roger, and Dragon put together! But at the same time, I wonder if this will ever inspire any high ranking officials (such as Sengoku & Akainu) to start judging Luffy as his own person, and no longer views him as the offspring of another enemy worth vanquishing. Who knows, I bet Garp could use this as a good opportunity to convince his superiors to not give his grandson the same unfair judgement as they did with Ace, even if it is only a little? 4. Now I know that many of you will be discussing on who will be the rightful Shogun of Wano to be between Momo & Hiyori. However, this mostly depends on what kind of leader the people of Wano may need TODAY & in the future!?

I never noticed it until I saw the silhouette in the thumbnail, but the big ass tree holding the royal palace in the Flower Capital looks a little similar in shape to the Super Happy Tree from Yoshi's Story.

I'm glad to see you don't think Kaido and Big Mom are dead here! Given how Oda often repurposes his villains and how big a deal both of them are, I can't see the story being like "oh well the magma killed them." Kaido has been obsessed with Joy Boy for decades, to the point of acting as a gatekeeper to the title. Now he's just fought and lost to the new Joy Boy. This changes everything for him. As for Big Mom, there's a lot of dramatic revelations concerning her past that she still hasn't confronted. I've been waiting for that shoe to drop for ages.

i do remember seeing sanji really quick because hes my favorite and im now obsessed with looking to see which way his eyebrow is facing "it was back to normal and this may have been in 1049 tbh it was a single panel so maybe i just mixed up the chapter number"

I agree that a lot has yet to unfold. Theres so many theories out there as to what it could be. I'm generally on the let the author tell there story as they intend. Especially with how masterful oda has been in crafting what I believe to be one of if not the greatest stories of all time. So I'm going to trust what oda has in store for us because he generally exceeds my expectations.

Ok so consider this for a second. The mere amount of pressure exerted on Big mom and Kaido's body experience, of being trapped in magma, And especially being blasted out of a volcano. Is probably considerably higher than the pressure experienced in the Mariana trench.

I hope there's more to come. really liking the idea of a proper Zoro arc waiting to happen before we leave Wano. I think to looming threat of the WG and unresolved presence of Zunesha also contribute to the incomplete feeling of this victory.

This is just me dreaming, but I'd love if luffy, zoro and sanji, all three of them, would be in this state between life and death at the end of this act. It'd really be the perfect opportunity for other characters to shine (yeah, I'm talking to you, nami, usopp and chopper (sadly)) There are so many possibilities, from the remaining fighters between the lines of the beast pirates to the marine coming, from big mom's crew just around the corner to the two emperors themselves doing some shenanigans Yo, and the sky island thing is giga great!!! Oh my, that would be so exciting

I mean, the borders were supposed to have been opened to welcome Joyboy, but since he is already on Wano, why open them up now if this isn't actually supposed to happen to support said Boi for a cooking prelude to a fated World War? The world is in a chaotic state and Wano would indeed be very vulnerable, especially after fighting against 2 Yonko + basically the full crew of one of them. So not opening up could be a very wise decision. Also, how would it look to open Wano's borders? It's still high up, very stormy sea, very unlikely to get ships up. Wano would need to have an eruption of a volcano happening to change how its natural borders work. So this Volcano we see working rn could very well work against Momo's resolve in an already dire setting. Everyone is just completely depleted, the new fancy WG forces are knocking at the door, Reverie stuff happened, Blackbeard wants to claim some prize, Big Mom's crew still exist... I rather see the crew either fleeing the scene, not giving us the fun relief of a feast rn after an extensive info dump because we are now starting the endgame of One Piece. Or maybe Vegapunk is in one of the ships and because he's another factor that could potentially create pure chaos from what we know about him so far MAYBE we get an escort to Elbaf. There are too many pieces on the board to put a roadmap together with a safe feeling. ALSO also, it's not like a Shogun could push a button and alter the masses of the island to literally open said natural borders, no? (or is it really just about the elevator into Wano, that this area should be opened up to the public? Possible, but since Oden knew soooooo much it could be anything we don't know about yet.)

Kaido and BM still have roles to play. BM in Elbaf most likely and Kaido might return in the final big war against the WG the Gorosei and Im-sama. Either that or at Laughtale.

My theory is that Oda made Kaidos defeat unwitnessed on purpose so that Toei can’t mess it up like Doffy and the King Kong Gun. With one page being turned into 6 minutes of clash in the anime. As for the actual story implications I am biased towards wanting Wano to end, so I am just trusting Oda that the payoff will come with the wrap up in the next 5-10 chapters, and not drag this arc another 100 chapters (2+ years) just so we can get the usual crowd reaction in a more natural way.

When i first read the chapter, i wasn't sure how to feel about it myself, all of the usual Straw Hat Victory signs were there minus the crew reactions. I just couldn't see mere Lava finishing off those 2 monsters of Yonkou. I feel like the Act 3 Tragedy could be that Momo decided not to open the gates of Wano, as that directly conflicts with his Father's wishes of opening Wano after Kaido is defeated. I've got a feeling that Big Mom's got a much larger role to play in the upcoming Arc (Elbaf) and that Kaido will risk capture/death to prevent the world government from getting ahold of Joyboy. Just my 2 cents.

I've been saying it for a bit now but I totally think we're going to the Underworld to get Zoro back. The Underworld might be the Emerald City or something like Tartarus. I know it's a long shot and I feel like a loon for saying it, but with the references in One Piece to the Underworld and afterlife, I think we're going to explore that element more. Elbaf could be connected to it somehow. It would make sense if the Giants settled in a country that they were needed in since they could have probably taken over any island. Why settle on Elbaf with one of the most powerful armies in the world?

Zoro is facing off internally with the spirit of Enma ether in battle or with words and when it resolves he will have full control. Enma may become a black blade in the process. Zoro heals remarkably quickly as well.

I have said it already so many times... Kaidou is going to join strawhats or the grandfleet... that's why his flashback his incomplete..and as he gets defeated by luffy we see the panel flash back saying joyboy is the one who is going to defeat him. Its like he is waiting for joyboy for a very long time now..and now he realises that luffy is joyboy what is he going to do about ? He has to go crazy over it..he has to fan him..he has to follow him..he has to believe in him..only these things make sense..kaido is going to join strawhats or may be the grandfleet or maybe he'll turn to an outside ally.. we know he is not dead.. luffy never killed any enemy before.

Personally I didn't thought the last chapter was anti-climactic. Mostly because of how it was build up until now. Aside from that though, Wano Arc hasn't ended. Only the raid has. I wouldn't be surprised if we had another Act in Wano and that Act 3 will end when the night has ended. Specifically when the tally of the casualties of the raid and the healing of the wounded has been taken care of. Then in Act 4 we would see what is going to happen with the world government ships that are outside Wano. The fact that Momonosuke told Zunesha that he will not open Wano just yet makes me think that Momo actually grew up more than just physically. I believe that by the end of the Wano Arc (not Act) Mono will open the borders. After the big party that must happen (most likely it will happen with the villagers of Wano and not with the people of the capital), after the world government ships are dealt with (either by Momo in his dragon form or by Zunesha), after Chopper has treated every and any one that he can find and we learn what has happened to Zoro, and after we finally see what are the drawbacks of Gear 5. Then Momo will open the borders for his people, for Yamato, for his father and for Luffy aka Joyboy. I think he will want to tell Luffy why he opens the borders but in a classic Luffy fashion he will either not want to hear about it or will not actually listen.
