Why not 16 wis and 14 con? What is the point in 17 wis and 13 con?
Nice build, I would personally go for the Reverberation route though by wearing the Gloves of Belligerent Skies, Boots of Stormy Clamour and Thunderskin Cloak. It means that anything that gets in your Spirit Guardians automatically get 4 turns of reverberation and so -4 to Str Dex and Con saving throws, and if they have 5 turns then they take 1d4 thunder damage AND fall prone if they don’t succeed a 10 DC con saving throw which will happen a lot with the -4 penalty. And on the off chance they do hit you with all the radiating orbs on them, they’ll get Dazed if they don’t succeed a Con saving throw cos of the cloak. Synergy all round

@@Toyhouze It is! That option is a lot more effective in my experience. Boots of speed are a waste of a slot, as your bonus action is used by fly anyway. with the gloves as well you set up your martial characters for advantage on pretty much every enemy, as they are all prone. prone also halves their movement as it takes half to stand up.

I'd swap out boots of stormy clamour for the boots of speed. bonus action dash and disadvantage on opportunity attacks. Take 1 level in sorcerer for con save prof. And shield so you can use your reaction to increase your ac by 5.

its about 3.5. The more important thing is opportunity cost. Shield will last the entire turn, and you want to trigger as many AoO for the holy lance helm for even more stacks of radiant orb. The Amulet of the Devout's +2 to spell save DC, when added to staves with +DC and a high spellcasting ability makes your DCs really high. I think that once you have this item you can comfortably give away the Hat of Fire Acuity to another party member. Basically, any offensive caster with Scorching Ray can use it as an opener and then have unsavable control spells. The HoFA is also great on martials that deal fire damage (with either of the Helldusk gloves,) especially a control archer. Words of caution on getting the Amulet: When you steal it and get the "castigated" curse, *do not* Short Rest or Long Rest. You can remove curse first to reduce the negative consequences, and then heal one party member at a time. Anyone present for the crime can get the curse, so sending your rogue in alone is best. The curse summons a pair of extraplanars (usually high level Devas) to attack you, but what may not be obvious is that it summons a pair of them *for each cursed party member that gets healed.* So, if you take either rest you could get jumped by 2 x healed party member Devas. On Honor Mode, 8 angry Devas might be overwhelming if you are not prepared. Using Remove Curse on an afflicted party member will reduce the number of avenging extraplanar attackers to 1 instead of 2. For best results, send your sneakthief character into the building alone, then cast remove curse on them, then heal them and you will just have to dispatch one angry Deva, which should be no problem.

For anyone who might be having trouble following the ability points section of this guide (or lack thereof) and respec'ing/adding a class instead of going to Withers at lvl 7 and changing your class entirely etc, unfortunately this video doesn't offer much by way of how to spread your initial ability points, or any additional ability points you've earned if you decide to respec at any given level (though it offers lots elsewhere!). I was at level 10 and decided to respec following this guide only to find my ability points were off at level 7, so had to reload and start over/guess again. One thing I found useful was to skip to the part of the video where he's at the level you're currently at when you decide to respec (ie in my case I skipped to where he was discussing what to do at level 10) and check his ability point spread on the right hand side of the screen. Then head to Withers, change your class to Light Cleric to bring you back to level 1. You'll have ALL your previously earned ability points intact (excluding the 2 additional ability points you earn as one of your feats), and then you can calculate accordingly. I think the bonus points were either +2 in Wisdom and +1 in Constitution or Strength, if that helps at all... I had 27 ability points to spend when I decided to respec, so I spread all my points according to what level 10 looked like, knowing I'd have an extra 2 points to spend when I earned the Ability Points Bonus feat.

What about... Eldritch Knight 8? At level 8, you can get blur and mirror image plus you'll have shield. so everything misses you. Use adamantine shield for reeling. Lumninous helm and luminous armor. for orbs, mental fatigue ring. So you have 3 conditions you put on enemies when they miss. Then use boots of stormy clamor, and gloves of belligerent skies. which add reverb every time you inflict a condition or do radiant dmg. you're always doing radiant dmg and always inflicting conditions. Use shining staver for the radiant dmg. then the rare light mace that does 2d8 piercing and 1d4radiant. THEN, you can use arcane synergy ring and elemental augmentation necklace. With EK war magic ability, you cast a cantrip and get a main hand attack as a bonus action, and that triggers arcane synergy for 2 turns and necklace adds spell mod to your cantrip, then arcane synergy adds you caster mod to your melee attacks. Because you never get hit you can go low on con. you only need 14 dex to get 2 ac from your medium armor so you can go 16-16 on your str and int. You can use feats to buff these stats, but...I would recommend several other feats that can fit this build. level 8 ek gets 2 attacks and 3 feats. at level 9 you get misty step. level 10 you get eldtritch strike(enemies you attack get disadvantage against you, so they miss) Everything that misses you, basically goes prone. and while they are prone they are stacking up reverb so they are way less able to stand back up, and you just stack orbs/reverb on them while thety sit there struggling to stand up. Level 11 you get 3 attacks and level 12 you get your 4th feat. fighter is a REALLY mean full class and EK gives you a lot of extra help in the spells department that is really the only thing lacking in fighter. perfect gish build. This build also works REALLY well for blade pact warlock 5(for the feat and extra attack) and then 2 palladin for the radiant dmg you get from paladin and is also charisma based. after that, sorc till end of the game for metamagic/sorc points. So you can dump stat str and int and wis, all you need is dex 14 for the 2 ac, and stack charisma since your spells and weapon attacks use charisma.

Thanks for taking the time to create content. I know I'm late to the game. Can somebody help me understand reclassing at level 7. Do you somehow keep all of the choices you had in your old class up to that point? If you were going to have the intention of reclassing, why not start with that class to begin with?
@zzickos15 күн бұрын
So, multiclassing often gives you advantages of other classes that your primary class doesn't have, you still keep everything that you've leveled up. Idea of this multiclass is to take 1 level into Sorcerer for Constitution saving throw but you only get that if you start with Sorcerer. To make it easy for you to understand, if you want to follow this build, start with 1 level in Sorcerer just to gain prof. in CON saving throws and then swap your class to Cleric. Also if you do that, don't take War Caster as your 1st Feat because you have taken lvl 1 into Sorcerer. 1st Feat should be Alert or something else that you prefer.

It's a great build, if you want a tanking Cleric. I did a respec on Shadowheart and made her a LIFE Cleric. She still has Spirit Guardians, but mostly I have her cast Sanctuary and then heal and buff everyone as needed. Most of the time I finish battles with everyone nearly at full health, although their spells and attacks are depleted. I like this, it looks amazing, but I don't know if it's a build I need from my Cleric right now (just starting Act 2.) I will keep this in mind though should I find that I need her offensive assistance. Thanks for all you do! ETA: it appears LIGHT Cleric may be a good choice for Act 2, and I also watched another video about this build so when SH hits level 8 (very very soon) I may just respec her to this at least for the rest of Act 2.

Try Sorc1+Cleric5+Abjurer6 for even more survivability. Works for both Light and Tempest cleric subclasses. For the sorcerer level, you can stick with the free Fly movement (which you forgot to mention competes for the BA with Click Heels) or switch over to White Dragon for Armor of Agathys, depending on whether you want to be invulnerable or not. If you do go the dragon route, switch out False Life for something else (Magic Missile, say) as the THPs from FL and AoA do not stack. This is generally a great build for Shadowheart after her loyalty switch and by varying the number of levels of these harmonious classes, such as adding a few more Sorc levels for Quickened Spell, you can create variations that have a different emphasis while maintaining the overall build concept.

Harm is unfortunately bugged. It works as expected if they succeed their save (half damage). But on a failed save they only get an HP reduction via a hidden value roll, without an actual damage roll. This has the same effect if they are on full health, but the more health they’ve already lost, the less damage you do. If they’ve already lost more health than the harm HP reduction, you do zero damage. Also, because the game doesn’t register an actual damage roll on a failed save, on-hit effects (like radiating orb) don’t get applied.

However, it should not be possible to get to a level 12 cleric since one has already added a level 1 sorcerer. If respeccing to Sorcerer for the 1st level, and light cleric for the rest: Don't Take Light Cantrip. You get the Light cantrip automatically when you become a Light Cleric. There is no point having it twice. Honestly, just get a Transmutation Wizard Camp Caster (hireling that stays at camp to buff you) as at level 6 they can create a stone that you can give to your cleric to provide you with Con Proficiency. - better than going with a sorcerer dip.

The firebolt cantrip is the best for the knowledge subclass Cleric. It can get 3 modifiers to added dmg if using multiclass with a dragon sorc, int (for first act only), x2 wis, and cha. It can do 60+ dmg per bolt and hit like 4 enemies or 2 enemies twice. Add on the elemental adapt feat to ignore fire res for a bonus. A lvl 8 knowledge cleric with 2 warlock levels can also make a Eblast that adds wis and cha that does 60+ dmg as well.
@ProbeAway9 ай бұрын
Multiclassing doesn’t work like that. You can’t add 3 different ability modifiers to one spell. If fire bolt is learned as a wizard cantrip, it always just uses INT. If eldritch blast is learned as a warlock, it always uses CHA. You can’t also add your WIS modifier just because you take cleric levels.
@AllyMonsters9 ай бұрын
@@ProbeAway It does work like that. What you get at level 8 in the knowledge or light subclass for clerics is Potent spell casting, adding wis onto your cantrips. Sorcs have draconic bloodlines that make it so cha is added to their cantrips and spells of their element they choose for their bloodline. Warlock has it so at level 2 invocation EBlast adds cha. Mods can stack, even if they are the same. Then you have items like the amulet of elemental augmentation to add another instance of your spell modifier onto fire, cold, acid, thunder or lighting spells. With the int circlet (you only have to use it till ya get enough levels to get a cha firebolt) it's very easy to get 17 int, 20 wis, and 20 cha. So the fire bolt is int/cha base, potent spell casting adds wis, the amulet adds wis or cha, and the sorc bloodline adds cha. Now you have a firebolt that uses 3 mods. Without other items that boost spell dmg or add any more dmg the firebolt is doing roughly 35-60ish dmg a hit. And can still be upgraded higher with other items like Kethrics cloak and such. Also, every cantrip you learn from a race selection (like high elfs) will be the int/wizard version of the cantrip. Doesn't matter what class you pick. The game will also tell you what the base modifier is for a spell/cantrip when you select from the multiple versions of the spell/cantrip if you have more then one learned from different modifiers/classes.

First of all I love your build videos very nice explanations. But instead of going Sorc1/cleric 11 why not take cleric 12 to keep the wisdom saving throws and get resilient:con for and extra point in constitution and con saving throws with the extra feat you will get?

How would Gandrel's Aspiration work if Light Cleric doesn't have proficiency with Heavy Crossbows?
@SeaSpartan1188 ай бұрын
Are you sure produce flame does more damage than the tooltip says? The footage showed you using it on a barrel, which has vulnerability to fire so that 28 was actually 14 damage

I tried respeccing her as a Wizard/Cleric (using the circlet of intelligence) but not a sorc/cleric. Will try it out, thanks!

i have no clue what item youre talking about. there is no itemed named "circlet of intelligence"(i checked the wiki). Could you please tell me what it does?
@acadiano109 ай бұрын
@@rabidcabbage7230 I was referring to the "Warped Headband of Intellect" that you can loot from the ogres in the Blighted Village in Act 1. It sets your Intelligence to 17. You can easily multiclass SH (or another companion) into wizard, but she would be restricted from using other headgear. I hope that clarifies things!

This seems to be a pretty good build. The only real disadvantage is after the respec, you are basically non-proficient in most weapons (including a mace which I would think having cleric would allow for). I disagree with some of your gear recommendations. The Blood of Lathander mace is FAR better than Phalar Aluve and likely remains so up until one can get Markoheshkir in Act 3. It's passive feature applies blindness to fiends and undead with no actions needed (which of course counts as a condition). It also gives Sunbeam which is pretty effective given one can use that bonus action fly to position oneself easily. My rogue is using the longsword since it's one of only 2 finesse long swords in the game. Likewise, carrying around a heavy crossbow that I'm not proficient with for relatively rare fights with undead makes no sense. I've got the Darkfire shortbow equipped for fire and cold resistance and the Haste spell which actually gets used. If I come up with something that gives better abilites/buffs without actually firing the thing, I'll switch. While I did acquire the Boots of speed, and luminous gloves, I think I'll be switching those out for reverberation gear. I've got the Gloves of Belligerent Skies and Boots of Stormy Clamour already and will be getting the Shudderspine Amulet soon. Fear not, I'm still going for the Coruscation and Callous Glow rings which will let me hand out Radiant Orbs as well. The idea of enemies who fall down a lot and can't hit, and can't save against what's thrown at them amuses me.
@maxisqt7 ай бұрын
You don't have proficiency with longswords in this build, Phalar Aluve is a longsword, even though you still get to use the Melody special action, you lose out on not only the special attacks (lacerate, etc), but you also don't get to add your proficiency bonus (+2 to start, then an additional +2 every 4 levels) to your attack roles, meaning you're significantly reducing your chance to hit.
@CrimFerret7 ай бұрын
You are never meant to actually attack with it. If you switch to the Boots of Stormy Clamour, using Shriek will count as applying a condition and give more reverberation. Personally, I prefer the Blood of Lathander Mace, but either will work. The thing that doesn't make sense is using Gandrel's Aspiration. You'd never use it. I've been carrying the Darkfire Shortbow for fire and cold resistance and the Haste spell it give.

I tried Light cleric on Shadowheart and omg I hate it. Warding flare didn't work 80% of the time. It was really pissing me off. Was playing with my friend in honor mode trying it out. In my single player game I have Shadowheart as Tempest and it works 10x better for damage imo. But I do like the fact you did cover it. Just wish I wasn't having such badluck with Warding flare.

My own build is one level fighter for constitution mastery, then cleric. Later on respec as Fighter 1/ Wizard 1 / Cleric 10

I think the idea is to just get the cleric abilities as soon as possible. Then when you get to the right level you respec for the proficiency in con saving throws while still having all of your cleric abilities from earlier levels
