i have a asus 2017 x540 i5 laptop and dropped it from the top of a 6ft cabinet and it still worked fine with just a minor dent on one corner. I was suprised even the DVD drive still works fine hahaha. I still use it up to now and if I'm going to buy a new laptop i would definitely go with asus. Their laptop are just built tough.

Highly doubt it can be serviced easily, most ultrabooks are a pain and they are usually fragile (from my humble experience)
