Thus far it has been a beaver style craw. But I have to admit this one is intriguing.

I’ve never used any of the odious or dark sleepers but I got a sleeper hill that I found which is the bigger version of the dark sleeper and I LOVE IT. It’s a skipping fool also. I skip the skip out of it lol. I don’t even use swim baits or paddle tails but I use it.

I fish the zoom toads often. I use a 5/0 extra heavy hook to keep it running true. I should start looking around at other toads. I’m an older dude kinda stuck in his ways. 😂
@aaanglers3 ай бұрын
Always fun to try new things! I'll try a heavier hook and see what happens

Despite the tough toad flipping, I have managed to hook plenty fish with it upside down with just the draw of the legs floppin

We have caught on it upside down and rightside up, so you are correct!

The BSE defiantly looks good. Going to rig it on a screwlock hook instead of the EWG.

When I first saw that BSE on Tackle Warehouse my first thought was ozark, hover, or free rig.

You could try that. It just meant to be weightless on a 5/0 hook

Hey AAA guys love the videos and the podcast . Would you recommend throwing the tough toad exclusively on a medium heavy or do you think it could work a traditional heavy stick frog rod ?
@InformativeFisherman3 ай бұрын
Typical frog setup is fine, it’s not as heavy as most hollow bodies but it’s close

Just my two cents about your comments in the video of losing baits. I personally will never use a palomar knot with fluorocarbon again. There are many knots that are available and that I have used with fluorocarbon that are all better than the palomar. Pick the one you like to tie. I've had so many palomars break at the knot, never again. It's a great knot for braid.
@aaanglers3 ай бұрын
99% of the time I just use an improved clinch and it has worked fine. I broke off twice in this video. once on improved clinch and once on palomar. What do you suggest over those?
@robertscobey84913 ай бұрын
@@aaanglers I have used the improved clinch primarily for years. I have recently discovered the Jansik knot (spelling?), it's easy to tie. I've seen studies saying it's stronger the improved clinch. I haven't used it enough yet to be sure of it yet. Maybe I was just triggered by hearing of a break palomar with fluoro. I once had 5 breaks in one day.
