can u use the c buttons as second stick in pro controller option?
@GiSWiG2 жыл бұрын
People seem to be asking about using this as a pro controller. Its focus is to be an N64 controller. Its not meant to be used as a pro controller replacement. If you want a Pro controller get a Pro Controller or something meant to be one. If you have been wanting the Official N64 NSO controller that only scalpers with bots seem to be able to get, this is a great alternative, even appears like one to the Switch!

this thing is incredible. just for the fact that I finally have a controller with a Nintendo 64 layout that doesn't require a dongle. this thing will sync up perfectly to a shield. this is incredible! I've waited so long for this option. Plus of course the switch functionality. it's a shame Nintendo has made it virtually impossible to get a classic N64 controller. Just ordered these after I saw your video and got them yesterday.

I was eyeing on the original Retro Fighters Brawler64 for a while but end up buying other controllers that I wanted. Now this is an amazing revision of it that I would like to get sometime. Glad I held off from the previous versions of the Brawler64.

Just got mine (x2) yesterday, working pretty nice, better than their 2.4ghz especially with the Switch specific buttons. Right out of the box, works great. Played it for a few hours. If you're tired waiting for the official one to be reasonably in stock, I recommend this one for sure.

I personally grabbed the Wireless Tribute64 V2 not long ago and I do enjoy the feel of that. A bit thin and cramped and the D-Pad is a bit meh, but I enjoy the wide variety of modes on it such as a dedicated Mario 3D All-Stars button mode and it has the two dongles for connectivity with both PC/Switch and N64, and it was the first wireless controller I recall that works with N64 to have rumble. The Bluetooth Brawler with actual rumble on it looks pretty enticing in its own right especially the transparent one. Hopefully other colors will come out, and I hope they've tightened up their analog stick range to have better ramp-up like wireless Tribute's. It gets hard to play something like Zelda and aim your bow or slingshot when it zooms all over the place, same with other games like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. It just seems like you get better value out of the tribute because of the N64 and USB dongles + rumble feature.

I got the email notification from Retro Fighters on Monday, ordered two of them on Monday, they are in the mail, hopefully here on Saturday like the USPS site says. I got a 2.4GHz one but pushing the Start button for 5 seconds is always hit and miss. Plus I had to go through four computers until I finally found one that could update the firmware. I was debating on blue or gray for some time, eventually went for the gray classic look. I might get two more blue ones. The white buttons just don't seem right.

Maybe it's my OCD but one small detail I don't like is that the A, B and C's are not aligned. I tried to like a similar controller from another brand that also have the A and B slightly offset down and it was slightly annoying while playing KI Gold and Clay Fighter.

I’ve never bought any of the previous RF stuff, but disliked playing the N64 NSO stuff with my pro controller that I decided to back this one on Kick Starter. I’m very impressed with build quality/feel in hand. I may pick up a second one if they release more colors like the turquoise. RF, if you’re reading this, Jungle Green PLEASE!

Anologue triggers are cool and all but all N64 and Nintendo Switch games are made with the digital triggers in mind meaning anologue serves no function. I never understood why adding those to 3rd party Switch controllers is as common/popular as it is. Unless some 3rd party games support it for 3rd party controllers.
@RMK2452 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken you could use analog triggers with Super Mario Sunshine(I believe the update added the function in), also Grid Autosport has it too, I think someone did a video and was seeing if the gamecube controller was compatible with the game, oddly enough it worked with analog triggers support

I've run into an issue that I don't see anybody addressing online anywhere with this controller involving remapping. The ZR trigger by default interrupts gameplay and activates the NSO menu in N64 mode. This is kind of annoying to me because the trigger is normally an essential gamplay button that I regularly use while playing. I prefer using the trigger buttons for gameplay, not menus. I also prefer using the trigger buttons instead of the shoulder buttons. I'd like to remap the MINUS button to open the NSO menu, and remap the R shoulder button to ZR. So I'd rather use the ZR button to use Link's shield instead of the shoulder R button so I can rest both index fingers on the triggers instead of keeping the left finger on a trigger, and right one on a shoulder. I naturally and instinctually press ZR to play the game, but it interrupts gameplay and brings up the NSO menu (and I do this often... Muscle memory). I'd like to remap it, but this can't really be done as far as I can tell. N64 mode can't be remapped on the Switch as of Feb 2023. The pro controller mode can be remapped, but CAN'T BE REMAPPED PROPERLY because switch doesn't allow you to remap the right joystick direction to a button... So games like zelda that require a tilt of a joystick as a C-INPUT can't be remapped on this controller. I don't know why the controller is set to use the right trigger as the NSO menu button. The minus button would be a much better choice for the menu. It's like assigning the pause menu to activate when hitting the A button or something. Anyway, it's a small gripe, but it's annoying enough for me to possibly return the item. I've searched the internet to see if there some sort of fix for this, but I can't find anything. I asked the company's customer service about this, and they said that there is a firmware update that allows the controller to swap ZR and ZL. This is probably useful for Goldeneye because it lets the right trigger fire the weapon instead of the left... But it still doesn't solf the menu issue. It just moves the menu from ZR to ZL. I'd rather use ZL to aim, and ZR to fire in goldeneye, but instinctually trying to aim with ZL just brings up the menu. Anyway, it's definitely a good controller. and this whole thing would be solved if Nintendo would just let you remap joystick directions to buttons. I'm hoping Nintendo does that soon, or I hope Retro Fighters addresses this remapping issue with a firmware update or something. But seriously MOST people seem extremely happy with this controller, so there may not be enough demand for them to address this. I may be out of luck! In short: -Remapping with this controller doesn't work very well.. or at all for N64 NSO -If you prefer using both trigger buttons instead of shoulder buttons, you're out of luck. -If you instinctually press ZR for gameplay, prepare to have your game interrupted with a pop-up menu (which is often for me If someone knows a fix for this, please share. Thanks!

The wireless Brawler64 was a total disappointment for me. It doesn't support certain button combinations (essential for certain RGB/HDMI mods or remote console reboot), it doesn't rumble and the stick's precision leaves to be desired. Now I use the official N64 controller for NSO on an authentic N64 with rumble and virtual mem card thanks to the Blueretro mod

I just wish Retrofighters would sell separate that USB adapter so I can use my wireless 2.4ghz Brawler64 on Switch. I’m sick of this company releasing half finished and incomplete products, and then announcing better products after the fact making us buy again.
